30+ years of cable debates and we're still no closer to agreement. Back in the 70s we did our DBTs with interconnects against lamp cords I'll stay out of this one. A new decade with new measuring devices. Same old conclusions.

No doubt there will be a second surge once CanJam is done and impressions materialize. But Todd seemed quite sure these would be available into July and he is hoping until well into August. Maybe just hope and a dream. He also did say there would be an announcement before the production would end. No doubt a third and final surge. No matter, plenty of time to pull the trigger unless you need to be the first on your block to own one.

Hard to say how many will actually be made. When I talked to Todd he indicated they will be available for at least two-three months. As others have said, no pre-determined production limit. I'm pretty sure all parties would be quite pleased if they sell 1000 HF-2s. I'm happy to wait to see the pictures and read the impressions/reviews. Plenty of time to acquire a pair.

Just went to look at audiogon and I'm sure not in Kansas anymore. I don't have alot of time at the moment to navigate through the site, but everything seems to be a link to other sites. I'm not entirely sure the 'gon is up and running.

The DT-880 is semi-closed (read no isolation) but a decent value at it's price point. I recently acquired and have been mesmerized by the ATH-W5000. I read mostly negative comments prior to trying it for myself. Fits me like a glove, superior isolation to the DX1000, deep soundstage, plenty of good bass quantity and quality. The sound is colored, but in a pleasant way to my ears on my system.

Just returned from the wedding reception. My daughter finally chose a traditional song... "Unforgettable", the version with Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. Thanks for your suggestions. We considered them all and you helped us to narrow it down.

I settled on the rubbermaid clear containers as well. Not sure there is an ideal way. Whether it is headphones, nuts and bolts or whatever, there is always a misc. bin/drawer/cabinet/etc.

This was my experience as well. Swapped USB & optical cables from the macbook to the DAC3. Optical seemed more resolving and the USB had an edgy or grainy quality. But no DBT here either.
