It passed the last time with over 60% so we somehow got closer to being enlightened. It passed this time because a bunch of fucking intolerant out of state assholes came here and spent gobs of millions of dollars on a mis-information campaign that scared a bunch of stupid people living outside the civilized parts of the state.

Yeah, I thought about that pic but then the republican/elephant theme took over. Oh, and by the way, it does seem uncool to allow the mods to keep taking shots and responding to comments while the thread is locked. Either lock it or let it fly. I don't always feel that way about locked threads and funny mod after-thoughts, but this seems a bit different.

No stands. Not sure how I am setting up speakers yet, but probably on a table top. Might get small stands or Auralex pads. I don't like the handle or the weight or the look of the Global knives, but the Shuns are more interesting. I have been meaning to get a santoku style for awhile but never pulled the trigger. Need some for MOA, so maybe Japanese will be the way to go. Hai!

So, JP and I are going to listen to the Ayre combo today. The dealer has had them on for two or three days solid to get them nice and warmed up. We are going to use the Nagra CD player and will also compare the Ayre KX-R to the Nagra PL-L tube preamp. I wanted to hear the VTL 7.5 tube pre but they don't have a demo available right now. The speakers are going to Wilson Sophias, although if I get serious about this I will bring my Gallos over there just to see how it would sound on something I am familiar with and might keep for the time being. God help me if I really do get serious about this, although I overpaid taxes this year and just got a big check from the State of California . . .
