The black ones were a later series made by new Stax methinks.

The 007t's main 'problem' is called 717 I guess.

It should sound the same as the SRM-T1S. And since that particular amp was packed with an SR-Omega which was made by old Stax, there should be no cost-cutting involved.

I ask it again: anybody interested in a group buy for that?

Another wrote for the normal bias Lambda + T1 but with a good speaker amp an adapter isn't bad either.

Sigma 404 is probably a bit different and also if you are driving it with a Blue Hawaii that makes a difference as well

To be honest, I thought the series was mediocre. But this last episode was really good.

Nice write-up, it would be interesting how an O2 would do on lesser amps.

A few month ago, a fully repaired (brand new) HE60 was sold on head-fi for 1650$ and now with the HD800 being available, it should worth less than that.

Forgot to mention, there is an SRM-T2 in my country, which might be for sale in the future. About the price, I only know that it's 'not cheap'

Yes, the condition was not tip-top but the sound quality was. When I rotated the earpads, the outside ring with the cable always wanted to move so I had to hold it with the other hand, is that normal?

I don't know much about CD players, but I compared it to a Sony 555 SACD player today. (using the input selector on the SRM-T1S with SR-007 MK1 and the same ICs) The Pico DAC held on really well while costing a fraction of the price and being much easier to use. The sound stage was a bit bigger and the sound was a bit smoother on the SACD player overall but the difference was quite small, both sounded very good. Pico will definitely stay for a while I guess
