I was surprised to see today that Axpona is staying in Chicago for another year, this time at the Westin (which is hopefully a hotel upgrade).

 

Last year John, Marc, Mike, and myself had a hell of a weekend in Chicago (see evidence). I would like to continue this tradition if possible since again, it's an international show that's less than 30 min. from my doorstep. 

 

I've already seen an email that this year will include a demo rig from German Physiks worth a cool million USD.

I will most likely be in. I also hope the hotel is an upgrade since last year the most fun was when they evacuated the upper floors because they thought the hotel was on fire....

 

But it was a good weekend and people should come to hear Uber Systems and drink with us.

That actually might be doable.  It's an easy hop over to Chicago on the Amtrak for me.

In. Under-new-management I heard. Perhaps they can prevent people from pulling the fire alarms.

I'm in pending the spring soccer schedule, which I won't know about for a while.

Great time last year, would love to again ... hopefully in. I need to get a better grasp of my schedule, though. It will be changing a lot right around then.

Classes end the 25th so this might be doable for me.

If I could make a 2Lt attend class for me, I might never go to class again.

Question for you veterans, as this will (hopefully) be my first big audio meet/expo and I'm ignorant about various things: if I come with full pockets, can I expect, for example, Madisound to sell off some speaker kits at special Axpona prices?

I'd shoot any vendors you're interested in an e-mail a few weeks ahead of time to see if they'll be selling any of the demo products. Many do, and at special prices. Salk Audio is one in particular that always seems to unload their gear right at the show.

The Axpona website has been updated with a whole bunch of info about this year's event.  Looks pretty cool.  I'm sad to say that I most likely can't commit to going, unless it looks doable at the last minute.
