  My wife threw me a surprise 50th in the same hall as the meet is in .Also she had gotten a belly dancer for the party,it was a fun time.

Not looking good for me at this point. Work deadlines are mounting and the timing is just not good.

Oh you're making it alright! If I drag my ass from Fort Lauderdale to Lawng Island you can get your passport stamped and leave Manhattan. I will see Dinny on this trip.

Sadly it's not a matter of me working faster, it's a matter of getting the people that work for me to work faster.

 

I'm not 100% out yet, I've got a few weeks to work on work and the wife and I haven't given up hope.

Keep me/us updated, Nate....I can still drive down, we can discuss logistics if you think that things can still work out and you want/need the ride.

 

Last spring, I left my house around 5:30am, got there in plenty of time and had a ball; and I stayed at a hotel overnight, coming back fairly early Sunday.  I have extended family there (Oyster Bay), but knowing I wasn't going to see them much at all, decided not to freeload....

Todd, sounds good and will do.  That would be very similar to what I would want to do (specifically getting back pretty early on Sunday) so I'll try to figure out what I've got going on in the very near future.

This is one of the reasons why I'm happy that I don't have to manage people anymore.

 

Just realized I'll be in New York (state) for the meet weekend.  Unfortunately, I'll still be couple hours away at my in-laws and/or nephew's birthday party.

So, got the blessing from my wife.

Who all is going? Just want to make sure it's worth the 4hrs in a car and time away from family... I don't really care about the gear.

I'll be there, will have some gear but for non-audio stuff will bring something nice for a toast to Tom.  If you care to jump on H-F you'll see the list, some good folks will be there.

It' s not about the gear for me but hanging out with everyone that makes meets so great.

Yes it will be worth the ride & sometimes its nice just to get away.

i'll be there, i just shipped my stuff to fedex. i may be a little late to the meet if my plane is delayed on Friday, i will have to wait until FedEx opens on Saturday to get my boxes

I'm unfortunately out.  I have to travel the next two days for work and after that there's no way that I'm climbing back in a car for the 8+ hour round trip.  I'm bummed I'm going to miss yet another NYC meet...

^ not wild about another day in the car either. Will be in the Gettysburg area Friday for a client onsite... Good times.

similar boat work has been crazed lately and I am on call this weekend, bummed to be missing this as I really could use a weekend away. Hope to live throughout he meet impressions
