What Are You Building Today

Bolted a slightly different one of these (than I just sold) together 😅 I need to revise my little autoswitcher board to make sure the negative input is grounded when the RCA is input is chosen - a difference between the two boards.

Also, interesting way to hide the front panel screws, note the two small set screws

I just measured them and they perform as stated. Will try and listen to them this weekend and then back on the bench to get the inputswitcher working...

Oh, if I only had the dainty little woodworkers hands.

All built and shoved into the shitty half garage shop ready to smash shit.

Have you seen my hands?

It's nice that you keep all the woodworking tools in one area. That'll make it easier for me to back a U-Haul truck and load it up quickly, when you move onto a new hobby in a few months.

I present to you...a box. But it's fully parametric. Now I need to figure out how to do each component in CAM. Baby steps.

The challenge in making that is likely going to be that the main baffle will be a two-sided operation if you do it fully on the CNC rig.  Honestly, seems like a project that would be best accomplished by a mix of CNC and the table saw.

The baffle is two separate pieces, so it all can be done single sided. I still need to draw up the internal supports, but I do have the dados in the base where they will fit. Did it as a exercise to make something simple in Fusion that I could actually use someday. Who doesn't need more home theater subwoofers?

I keep making things I don't really need.  While looking for a spare power supply around the abandoned office I happened upon several rolls of what I can only call, magnetic whiteboard tape.  My brain immediately thought, hmmm, I wonder if the laser can engrave and cut this stuff?  So, I brought a scrap home and loaded up my current favorite file.  I present, RTJ fridge magnets.

I have no idea how you guys are using computers to smash sticks.  I think it is something I do not want to get invested in.

How many teeth do you guys like on your foldy stick smashing saws.  80? 100? 7000?  Looking at some Diablos for the new stick smasher.

Looks pretty fucking fancy. Not sure what it does though.
I am also doing fine carpentry today. Made it for the French cleat wall for paper towel size, so it looks kind of funny with shop towel roll.

It keeps the material pressed down on the table and the wheels are angled to keep it pressed against the fence. Basically does the same thing feather boards do, helps make straight cuts and adds some safety against kickback.
