went for the extra 8th egg and slightly increased the amounts of everything... netted exactly a half gallon. should be far more manageable this season. Old Grand Dad should add some spice with slightly elevated rye in the mashbill.

The New York Times is also mainstreaming making fresh and aged nog. I might make a fresh batch with this recipe -- maybe substituting whipped cream for the beaten egg whites because I like that so much with the Mattnog -- just to compare them.

Well done!  I'm glad to more folks have picked this up this year, myself included. I haven't gone back to the well again after my first taste but hope to over the coming few days.
