I assume frontpanelexpress.com is who I want to use if I want a 3.5"x2" engraved faceplate made for my amp? I'm messing around with their software right now, any tips? Thanks

Yes... I'll be making a separate one just for that asdadfcm8.gif

They're the only ones I know of, but you might look into laser engraving if you're wallet can handle it.

I would look around the net. You could do some comparison shopping.

I'm looking into custom end pannels for my Millet Max and I believe that things remembered will be cheaper than frontpanel express. They'll let you drill everything before they engrave as well.

Good God you're terrible.

dude...hahahahaha

this guy is so fucking with us!

BBQ? With a faceplate???

COOL!!!

You can ask FPE for samples, so you can see what the various engravings and dyes look like.

But yeah, FPE is pretty amateur looking stuff, but at least you don't get raped on set up fees.

Sorry but they send you samples of the actual product? Anyone I should contact over there? Thanks for mentioning this :)

One drawback for fpe is their single font. I think it looks fine, but if you want, say, a different font, no dice. Unless they've corrected that now, which would be cool.

FPE has a number of fonts to choose from, and you set the size you want. If you want something that they don't have, you could always create it in some other software and save in HPGL format and then import into FPE.

A cool answer, and an even better suggestion. Brilliant! Thank you!

Digging up an old thread, but how is frontpanelexpress' turnaround time (and cost) for faceplate? I'm thinking of getting one made for my beta22 (and for its PS), assuming I can figure out their design software and other details out.

I was reasonably happy with their turnaround with my front panel, tho I don't remember exactly how long it took. They do nice work, too.

My turnaround was pretty quick, I've had a few things made by them. I have another couple of things on the burner still to go.

It seems like it took about a week and a half for mine.

Their software is pretty easy, just play around for a bit until you figure it out.

Cool. I guess I'll go play around with their software. Of course, I'd still have to take off the current front panel from the beta22, which I hope won't be too hard.

You have friends who can help with that, Haj.

Good point - at least the panel for the power supply is real easy to take off as there's really nothing attached to it.
