  • Crikey ... I go away for a while and all kinds of shit breaks loose.  Big and too big iPhones - even too big for Mikey's ass and Shelly's hands.  What the actual fuck is this world coming to?   Nice

Reset help needed!

The girlfriend's new iPhone crashed (was in parking lot and aborted a utube load) and a soft reset didn't do the trick. Is the next step a hard reset? From what I read, the procedure is to hook to computer and when iTunes recognizes, choose something....

Any other way to reset these devices sans a hard reset?

How to Hard Reset an iPhone (with pictures) - wikiHow

Thanks Bud! I'd sent those same instructions (thinking that a 'soft' reset) to her, hoping a routine reset sequence would do the trick. No cigar.

In case you prefer the pushy way too...

I do . . . a bit. Pft.gif

I am looking for software to convert DVDs to Mpg4s or other touch-compatible format.

I've seen Aimersoft DVD to iPod Converter, Tipard DVD to iPod Suite, etc.... a bit overwhelming in terms of choices.

Anyone could recommend what they use and what makes it a good option?

I did a search in this thread, it came back w/0 hits.

Thanks!

HandBrake

handbrake

1) free

2) comes with presets for various formats and the ability to create your own presets

3) decent documentation

overall it's a pretty decent program that's available across multiple platforms. I've only used it on a Mac, so YMMV.

Thanks guys! This is what I was looking for.

BTW, thrice, how's the little penguin?

BTW, thrice, how's the little penguin?

excellent, even got a visit from *plush* Steve Jobs himself:

She looks great : - ) [ and Steve certainly looks as if he's praying she reconsiders the "penguin" ways for the OX-ways... ;) ]

oh, forgot to add: I am extracting a DVD already using HBrake. Looking forward to transfer/try on touch.

THanks again

Gear Baby! There

Thanks... How's your little one doing?

She is doing great! In fact, sometimes I thing she's just growing too fast! Soon she'll be off to college.....

here is a piccd44hi-albums-sophie-picture1119-reading-piggies.jpg

Adorable! Man they grow fast.

That's awesome!

How's yours, Juan?

Hi Peter,

Check out the pic above. She is definitely in control! She loves dancing to bad 80's music. It's hilarious.

So, thanks again for the recommendation with the software. In this case I wanted it to get some training DVDs into the ipod to use while cycling (stationary trainer). IT works great for that. Ipod touch + external speakers good combination. I should get a portable dvd player, but this does the job. :D

She's a beauty Juan. Now, my girl, she is truly almost off to college now that she has started high school. Oh my! :palm:

Thanks guys. It is a lot of fun now that she is a lot more interactive. So thrice, get ready!
