August 20, 200817 yr Oh, to clarify what I said about landscapes, I love looking at them, I just suck at taking them. Damn my uncreative mind! Well then, here's a few for ya!
August 20, 200817 yr All three were taken on the eastern flank of Mount Dana at the easternmost edge of Yosemite NP.
August 20, 200817 yr All three were taken on the eastern flank of Mount Dana at the easternmost edge of Yosemite NP. Whoa indeed, these look a lot better then the first time I saw them, more color saturation, more punch, less haze.

August 20, 200817 yr Great pics Peter and Dan. And, Dan, I never thought of you as that artsy. I think your new HC name should be Grawktastique (but please no nude shots)!
August 21, 200817 yr Author Whoa. Nice picture. I did a few like that, a couple years ago: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/39/105186113_1bafe4d366.jpg[/img http://farm1.static.flickr.com/42/105172892_2d7e5e599f.jpg[/img I was goofing around with my point & shoot digital, so it's nothing terribly serious. The thing below the headphones is a much-loathed Technics SL-1200 DZ, their ill-conceived foray into the CDJ market.

August 24, 200817 yr I don't know anything about photography but my younger brother is incredibly good. This is just some stuff he took at the beach today, but he has some really amazing stuff on his computer. Kick!

August 26, 200817 yr Pics from the 8/24/08 HeadRoom & LA/OC Audio Society meet. I know these pics aren't exactly interesting but I wanted to demonstrate something. 1st pic taken by me with the Nikon D80 body and Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. 2nd pic taken by Iron_Dreamer with the Nikon D80 body and one of his lenses. See the work of the better photographer!

You both were visually stimulated by the chandeliers and felt compelled to capture them in you own individual styles. Or am I just reading way too much into your comment. Besides, the better photographer would have used large, hi-rez, fast black and white film and German glass. Of course I'm talkin' Contrastique w/ a Hasselblad.

Or am I just reading way too much into your comment. Well Iron_Dreamer was better able to zoom in without blurring the shot is more of what I meant. And two selections from today's sunset. Couldn't decide which I liked better so here's both:
August 27, 200817 yr Contrast is better on the 2nd, color in the first. If I had to pick, I prefer the crispness of the 2nd.

Nevermind. Oh btw , nice sunset pics.
September 2, 200817 yr Here's a shot I took on the drive home the other day. Made me really wish I had a tripod with me at that moment.
September 2, 200817 yr You and me both Dreamer, I had a great opportunity to do one of those too over the weekend but no tripod made me sad. At the Cave of the Winds near Colorado Springs Fun with shutter speed near the CotW entrance Inside Cave of the Winds Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs Dead specimen permanently poised for the ages
September 4, 200817 yr You have some nice surroundings there in The States. I would love to see that myself one day. Meet my new camera (the one on the right): My boyfriend picked up a box from where he had his own photography store before he joined his dad. 2 Rolleicords came along of which this one is in the best condition. I added it to my collection so now I can experiment with 6x6 for real! We have to go there soon coz there all still like 20 boxes left with cameras, 2 Leitz projectors and 2 large format (8x10") cameras, the latter probably not functioning anymore. Really awesome playing around with that old stuff. Lot's of unfamiliar brands, lot's of solutions to "problems" nobody even wonders about anymore with all these cameras that take care of everything without you having to think about how things work or know when to press the shutter-release button. Long live smile detection nowadays
