that is a dual voltage output, single ended flyback supply. can't change the positive voltage without changing the negative. so you really need 2 x single output units. and then you might be stuck with +/-380. which should work.

So I connected this yellow DC-DC. It can produce -400 and +380 volts from 12 volts. Which is 20 volts less than I need. Interestingly, it can produce -400 volts in one side. And only +380 volts in the other. Funny. Now I'll be looking for ways to squeeze another 20 volts out of it. Or should I just skip the hassle and buy some decent USA S400 modules and be done with it.....

I have decided that I’m going to shoot digital only soon. I have a significant amount of film in my freezer, but once it’s gone my film cams are conversation pieces only. I can fortunately shoot the vintage Nikon glass on the Df. Thinking about going to a Hasselblad 907x. I guess I’ll get a Ricoh to replace the Rollei. It’ll be a lot less charming. I’m able to get shots with that camera that I couldn’t with anything larger and less charming. I hope a GR meets those requirements.

I bought a DAC3. It sounds identical to the DAC1. I’m glad to have the DAC1 for a different setup, so it all works out.

Saw Mary Fahl last night, I think the 6th time I've seen her (7th if you count October Project in 1995). Wonderful concert, some of her hits, October Project hits, and covers. The whole second set was her adaptation of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, pretty stunning. I think this may have been my favorite show of hers. Got to chat with her and her husband after the show, and also met 3 folks with whom I'll keep in contact ongoing; just some amazingly nice people.

Yes, I was just listening to Hats (1989) and I wanted to see if the band members had done anything else since then. I've been listening to A Walk Across the Rooftops a few times in the last few weeks, since I first got it in the summer. I think the Blue Nile is basically broken up. Their 3rd and 4th albums, Peace at Last and High, didn't garner the same level of critical and popular recognition, so maybe it's best to leave it at that (from the sound of Moore's last interviews about the band, it seems to be a bitter ending, at least on his part).

Yeah, I don't know if I could even pick just 5...still...so I guess I haven't changed much, but my old top 5 are no longer my top 5, so I'll give it a shot: 1 & 2: Animals and Wish You Were Here still, but I don't listen to them much, even though I have the WYWH Immersion box and Animals remaster with me, they're both unopened. So they might still be my favourites? I do still love jazz (Keith Jarrett's solo piano concerts, like the Sun Bear box; Return to Forever/Chick Corea/Al Di Meola; et al), but the new number one in that category has become: 3: Hiromi's Sonicbloom, Time Control -- it still has to be part of her Sonicbloom group. I mean, I love all her stuff, but her work with David Fiuczynski and the others was just peak. Do you mean Phenomenon amplifiers?) I saw what was inside and it seemed funny)) Well, if I turn the volume up to maximum, the amplifier can consume up to 10 mA at peaks, but I don’t listen that loud. I dont know if its minited to +-400v or maybe it can handle more.

so my version has an amplifier power of around 20 watts. the hvrv version seems to be half of that. may be the reason why there were a couple of comments about the sound vs the original to126 version.

those modules do work, i have a few. the diodes on the back run stupid hot. never tested for hours and hours. there was a company in poland i think building an electrostatic amp with 4 of these. first version with no fans. second version with fans. both versions burn up in a couple of months.

Yes, you're right. That's why I had to connect it like this. I'll get this thing tomorrow 12v to +-390v DC DC I hope it doesn't beep or at least there's a way to eliminate the beeping with an RC filter or something. I'm just trying to try all the DC-DC modules before spending $50+ on those cool USA12400S-8 ones. But most likely, I'll just have to buy them.
