We post about anything like this we can find but you can't post anything like this on Head-fi and it's been that way for close to 20 years. Those who pay Jude money can get away with most things. Other forums are not much better.

Yes; gives roughly +/-4V of adjustment range in my build. Can be upped if larger range is needed.

This is an expensive amp for me .I have contacted woo audio but have not received yet a response and I don't expect one .I'm glad I saw this but wished I seen it before I bought the amp ,I just don't understand how they can get away with this .Thank you for the reply .

The latest version of Megatron XL comes with 4 pots each 300B. What are those pots adjusted for(cycled in the pic)? I'm not familiar with the DHT tube.☹️ I assumed they are for Grid voltage adjustment.

The verdict is that this is an amp that is worse than anything Stax sell, let alone the aftermarket out there but sold at a premium to generate the illusion it is good. They did claim it was an all tube amp but no idea if they still do. It was obviously a lie then but this is Woo Audio... that is nothing new.

Congratulations to the T2 build. Please, allow me to point out… the crossed/twisted legs of TTA004B/TTC004B that replace 2SK79/2SK216. Great work. No updated boards needed.

Repairs. Of cause it was some problems (for T2 this is normal, nothing special). It was successful first run. But after some modifications I had bad connection for tubes filaments 6.3V. * so fried couple times 2SK216 + went to rip 4-6pcs LTL-4221NLC. Silent dead, no sparks. * PSU lines -500V, +500V (not alone here, other members had same problems): zener 24V, 2n3904, fqpf8n80c. Thanks all who helped in repairs.

Hello everybody! Almost finished T2 started in 2022. It was very funny and pleasant build, very interesting. For base I took PCB developed by jamesmking in 2020. For me it was most convenient layout, it is possible to rearrange in case two channels. Plus no absolete elements. In this build changed: * DC offset resistir R64 from 510 to 649Ohm * 2SJ79/2SK216 on TTA004B/TTC004B * FQPF8N80C on STP8NK80Z Some pics Amplifier. TTA004b/TTC004b And PSU More pics here https://cloud.mail.ru/public/mHh6/ktC6SknZ5 Thanks jamesmking, JoaMat and other guys for help in assembling.

Just saw this so what is the verdict .I have this amp 3ES and it is working fine . Now because I have never had a headphone amp before are others getting there money back and if this is what has been written is it not a case of fraud . I have spoken to that mike guy and seems apprehensive on other things ive asked .I haven't seen a statement from woo audio .Any suggestions I mean if others are selling there amps wouldn't whoever is buying them should be notified which would kill any sale of this amp

Day two: Copland: Appalachian Spring, Lincoln Portrait & Billy the Kid Suite by Henry Fonda, London Symphony Orchestra, Aaron Copland (1988) https://album.link/5msv0g08sjqc2 Example: A recording that I know very well. Bought it during the Columbia House days, and played it a lot. But has been many a year. A touch ironic that these recordings were all with the LSO. What's wrong with the 'merikan bands Aaron? I don't blame him, the LSO sounds wonderful on these recordings. These pressings were good not great in the 80s, but it is good to hear that the recordings are great.

Copland Conducts Copland - Expanded Edition (Fanfare for the Common Man, Appalachian Spring, Old American Songs (Complete), Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes) by Aaron Copland (1988) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0884977763522 (just qobuz) Example: I was thinking the other day, that I have not been listening to enough Copland (no not Cop Land). I have always liked his work and have many recordings, but I don't have my system setup right now. So I loaded up my queue and started listening.

Yeah HS, it's BBQ oysters at the Marshall Store on Tomales Bay. The HC crew has gorged there together on occasion.

Recently switched over to Qobuz and am ditching the Tidal. Qobuz connect works seamlessly with WiiM devices.

OK, my transformer is toast. But i don't understand exactly what happened. Again, this was purchased as-is untested from someone who didn't know anything about it. I'm only getting 3.4vac on the heater winding and about 135v on the b+ winding. Investigating the primary side, only one of the unused lugs has a connection, and it seems to be about 8 ohms (dc) past the end of how it is currently wired. So my surmise is that it is configured for 100v and it is possible to move a wire to the other lug and power it from 117v. The heater winding has a center tap that is connected to 0vdc, which seems totally reasonable to me. The wire to ground from that center tap was pretty gnarly with some of the insulation at the end melted through and some loose filaments, as though someone who doesn't believe in flux was monkeying with it. The weird part is an additional black wire going from the heater CT to a lug next to the b+ wires. Hard to see in my crappy photos, but that lug did have a connection to something in the windings. If i disconnect it from the CT, it is an open circuit to all other lugs as well as the core and shield. And there are some black marks on the paper label underneath it that may be burn marks? So my guess is that perhaps the b+ winding on this unit had a center tap as well, and someone was trying to convert it from 100vac to 117vac operation and mistakenly tied half of the b+ winding to 0vdc, causing it to burn out. Though that doesn't explain the low heater voltage. I've ordered that aliexpress r-core because i refuse to recognize the sunk costs fallacy. I'll also order some 10mm or 12mm diameter b+ caps that can be laid against the power board to make room for the r-core.
