  1. When I first received the iMac, it did look a little big. Now my 24 inch monitor at home seems too small.

  2. It definitely looks like a balanced (shielded) cable. I prefer using a standard two core audio cable rather than a balanced (shielded) cable within the amp. Rather than drag the shield through the amp, I connect it directly to the chassis at point of entry (the Neutrik DLX series have a feature just for this) with the shortest piece of wire possible. “Balanced cable shields should function as an extension of the enclosure.” (Raine notes) Spritzer has those PCB’s.

  4. I'm setting up Tim's new MBP and just ran across the new "feature" in Spotlight search in Yosemite. I've certainly searched for account numbers or various other secure data using spotlight in the past. I've turned off this "feature" but I am not a fan of where Apple is going with this. Also why the fuck are they sending stuff to MS/Bing? http://www.cultofmac.com/300301/keep-os-x-yosemite-sending-spotlight-data-apple/

  7. I finished my KGST recently. The fit was pretty tight in this 2U/330mm/280mm case. Had to reduce the 1.5kOhm resistor to get the offset to 0V though. Spritzer did mention a case this small would need a lot of ventilation, so I went with a pretty open top cover. Dead silent operation too.

  9. Neil on Colbert Report tonight. Went into deep technical details on the Pono, claiming it can do "all of the sound" while the iPod can only do "5% of the sound"
