I figured I had to post when this one was up and running again. Sounds awesome...

well my Metric Halo is acting up and need to send it in for service so I ordered the Oppo. Gives me a solid 30 days to decide if I like it enough i keep it as a utility infielder or at the worst ship it back to Mountain View.

I'm thinking of an HDMI type device that would pass the digital signal along to the receiver, so yeah I'd be relying on the receivers DAC, but I think my Denon receiver sounds pretty good, especially when you throw audyssey into the picture.

Oh no no no, its not bad. In fact the main reason I bought it was to get access to Prime original programming, but I haven't watched any of those shows yet. I just like the Apple TV much better for typical stuff: hulu, Netflix, renting movies, hbo go, etc. I'm probably just so used to the Apple TV layout, its been my primary way to consume video content for years. Now if a device comes along, which I'm sure it will, that supports Tidal, I can see myself going over to that.

I have the apple leather case. Expensive but I got a $50 gift card for some reason when getting a new phone so just go the one at the store. Works well enough. Only issue is that the jh16 jack does not go in all the way. In the store someone else had the same case and when I tried it on theirs, it went in just fine. Minor product variation I guess.

nope, it works really well for the amazon ecosystem. Way better than the amazon apps on my dvd player etc.

I have two more episodes of Serial to go before I am caught up - recommended as well.

Not music, but I've been listening and now I'm finally caught up. It is very good. Highly recommended.

Yep I am and have been a fan for a while - I went through a stage of getting many of the single barrel ones - with the different barrel/yeast variations. I slowed down my purchase of them of late. But when I run out of some of my other current stuff I will have no problem going back into the purchasing of various single barrel bottles. I like the variety that they offer. Cheers...

Today's bump.

It's been a long time since I've been in this thread, but I made Modernist Cuisine Caramelized Carrot Soup and Modernist Mac and Cheese to bring to my cousin's Thanksgiving dinner... Also, we've been doing Blue Apron lately. It's a wonderful time-saver; I get to cook without shopping or having to worry about too many leftovers (there are none). It's nice to get just two stalks of celery when you need them for a recipe instead of buying a bunch then throwing it away later on. And did I mention I don't have to shop?

I am considering moving around in 2015. It would be a bit of a career ladder killer, but something I am getting more and more convinced that the time is right... I have a call next week with our President to discuss some options and not sure what to ask for, so thinking a lot about that tonite..
