  5. Happy Holidays everyone.. Happy to report i have my CARBON up and running for some 6 hours now. I have set the current output to 17ma approx. I attached some digital thermometers to the Hottest part of the 2 heatsinks and monitored the temperature. 35 deg/c +/- 1 seems to be what they have settled at over the last couple of hours. I zeroed balance/offset to practically zero, the offset drifts a volt or two but much lower than any previous KGSSHV BUILDS. I have found that having 2 headphone outputs makes balance/offset adjustments easier. This amp drives my sr507/009's easily with plenty of range left on the volume control. Speaking of which i was thinking of a relay based volume control such as this http://diyclub.biz/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_248_85&products_id=410 does anyone have any experience with these? any advice on alternatives would be appreciated (i would rather something pre-assembled). I won't go into what it sounds like (i will leave that to those more capable than myself at explaining such things) But i will say i have put my other amps in the closet for now! this thing just sounds superb. As always many many thanks to KG and all those that make these projects possible. Any questions you have i shall do my best to answer them. Usual rules apply......If no Pictures.........Then it didn't happen!! So here you go. By the way i think i over-did it with the Heatsinks in the psu and could well have gotten away with a single heatsink for the HV +/-.

  6. Gentlemen, it's christmas obviously. Today my T2 is making its first playback. I have just received a Birgir modified 007A. Yes, I haven't owned anything from Stax since today. It sounds so effortless and so wonderful... and weired noise free even with my 95 % Takman build (no Xicons, Inu's style). After 10 months of careful building, it's alive. Maybe the first KGT2 in France ? If there is a Xmas magic, I must have tasted it today.

  7. Poured 35 bottles of ghost pepper sauce. At Christmas at the brother's house. Pretty good return for 4 plants.... Got almost 15 gallons of fermenting Jalapenos to do next. Think those are gonna wait a couple of months though (thanks to auto color in photshop for the blotchiness)

  9. since its Christmas, I will be nice. 1) your son is a fucking clueless idiot that has obviously not fallen far from the tree. 2) you obviously did not read the thread 3) The original krell board for which I have exact copies of pictures of the top and bottom of the board supplied from krell directly thru tom... The original krell board was hand layed out with film and tape on .1 inch centers. The left and right channels were not physically identical. My version made the left side identical to the original with each component exactly in the same place on the board. And each circuit land in exactly the same place except electronically aligned. Then the right channel was an exact duplicate of the left channel. So mine is actually a bit better. I just posted a new version of the board with teardrops enabled. 4 or more layer boards can also be done without destroying the board. You just need a large plate medical Xray to do so. And I have one.

  12. Looking good, guys. The bacon was neither drowned in DC nor sugared/candied. I prefer my bacon straight up, no chaser.

  17. Wasn't today, but this weekend I was at a Game Stop store. Andrew has had $75 of gift card/reward $ accumulated, but he's not interested in any games right now. I traded some of it for iTunes $, which he DID want, and went to the nearest store. They used to sell iPods, and I'm getting a nice radio/dock off Craigslist tomorrow, so thought I'd maybe use the $ towards a higher capacity player. Got there, they don't sell them anymore. So thinking to look for a nice headset for chats. As I walked through, I basically said "screw this" and looked around the store. Cued up in line was a kid, maybe 10 years old, with some cash in hand. I asked him what he was getting and he told me the game. I gave him $50 worth of credit and wished him Merry Xmas. I then gave the last $25 to an older woman who just got in line to get a game for he grandson. Seeing both their smiles felt a hell of a lot better than a headset.
