  1. Working from home today, dealing with whatever is left in the fridge syndrome and happened upon what I believe to be a winner. Smoked pulled pork and eggs fried in bacon fat, eventually topped with cheese and some of the aforementioned bacon

  2. I don't know how much interest this will have here, but if you are interested in law and/or policy discussions, the Lawfare Podcast is generally highly recommended. Sadly, the best podcast out of Lawfare just ended because two of the three commentators went to work for the Biden administration. That said, this recent episode on the police state in Xinjiang and the treatment of the Uyghurs there, and elsewhere, is interesting, horrible, and terrifying. Definitely worth a listen.

  3. Knowing someone with a bird (sorry, I forget what kind) that was also very social and loved people, I definitely appreciated the truth to this story:

  5. Another fun legal-ish one to follow is John Carryrou's Bad Blood podcast. He is the reporter who broke the stories in the WSJ that took out Theranos, and subsequently wrote a book about it. He is going to be following the day to day of the trail (at which he himself may be called to testify) which kicks off next week. It should be interesting, to say the least! First two episodes came out last night so this is hot off the press.

  8. Netflix: "What are people in your area watching?" Me: Don't care. Netflix: "What are your friends watching?" Me: Don't care. Score the Podcast: (briefly mentions a show that someone worked on, then proceed to spend the rest of the podcast discussing other things) Me: Ooooooh, that sounds interesting...

  9. I guess no one mentioned it, but the MPSA42 is the same as the KSP42. Mouser has 14,000 in stock (Central Semi).

  10. I have an APR stage one* flash on the Tiguan. It would beat the snot out of this “sportline” at a stoplight, and I can also figure out how to adjust the climate control in it. *not gonna go further on a car that sometimes has a booster seat. Also it’s a Tiguan.

  12. It’s barely after noon, and my sleep has been fragmented due to a trip, so a 30 gram to 200 ice to 300 boiling of some very nice coffee. Ground finer than you might think.

  15. Finally done! I regrettably sold my previous KGSSHV Carbon a while ago, this one’s not going anywhere soon. This is a 400V, 19mA version, using the ground plane amp board, Sumr transformer and Goldpoint V47 attenuator. I bought the heatsinks from China and had all the drilling and panels done at Front Panel Express. I pulled out the Canon 5D from the cupboard for some tasty shots.

  16. This is a bit of an odd one. Anyone who has listened to my radio show knows I'm not a huge fan of psytrance. With that said, I'm sad to find out about the passing of Olli Wisdom. He recorded a mass of albums and performed live as Space Tribe. In the early 80s Olli was part of the goth rock band Specimen and ran the Batcave nightclub. The club released a couple cassettes including one by the infamous industrial and proto power electronics act Whitehouse. Olli got in early on the UK acid house revolutions (which took place when he was the tender age of ...30) and was active as a DJ since the early 90s. I never met him, but I was aware of his presence and music for a good 25 years. In a scene full of revered egos and people with vastly inflated senses of self-importance, Olli was a very down to earth greatly respected individual. He was quite a character, too. There was a time when I'd have thought 63 was ancient and a ripe old age. Now it's "ulp, that's not that far off is it?"
