  1. I was getting ready for a bike ride this afternoon and hunting through the dryer for some gloves when I spun the drum by hand and it made a huge bang. Hmmm, that's weird, says I. I find the glove and attempt to restart the dryer and no joy, no spin, no heat, no nothing. So I make the executive decision that this is not going to ruin my ride and inform the family that laundry is off limits for a while. Got in a good ride with two local buds and then got to work. Initial prognosis, the belt is still around the drum so deeper we go... Problem found, the belt had slipped off the idler pulley and then the spring that loads the idler had fallen off so the whole drum had to come out to get at things to perform the relatively straight forward repair. About a half hour later everything was back together and working. Worst part is that the belt is worn so I'll get to do at least half of this again sometime sooner than I'd like but at least it's working again.

  2. Not myself, I'd already left for work. But I heard that Suzy fought off a racoon that wondered into the apartment. I've been leaving the door open for her, and it must have looked like a good place to look for food. The landlord heard her barking like crazy (she doesn't bark unless something seems wrong to her), came down to investigate just as Suzy was chasing the racoon out of the apartment. I guess I'll have to stop leaving the door open. No signs of scratches or bites on Suzy, says the landlord. She said Suzy calmed down quickly.

  4. Not today but yesterday I had two what I call “Real Men of Genius” moments. #1. Had leftover poutine and thought to myself, I bet that would make a hell of an omelette. Result was yes, indeed, it was delicious. #2. Had leftover smoked pulled pork. Decided nachos were required. It was a good day.

  5. Sorry, I'm just a gay man, not well versed in what might be considered macho. I just assumed that a badass helicopter pilot wouldn't set limitations on how badass his road going vehicle would be. Of course my conception of your military life could be way off coarse.

  6. I didn't take pictures, but this morning I also had a leftovers omelet. Leftover flank steak. Was yummy.

  7. Probably, just crazy since people are still paying a premium for any truck on the lot right now. Officially re-ordered with a $10k savings. Sure glad I decided to check out the TRX group.

  11. Found a dealer that offers $9k off a ordered TRX! Will probably lose my $500 deposit but I’ll still be $8500 ahead.

  13. Yes, good thing. The new F-150 interior looks so much better and supposedly has a better fit and finish. It was terrible in the Raptor. I guess we will see when the Raptor R comes out which one I’ll go with. Though I’m thinking I’ll probably skip year one and let every else pay the premium if I go that direction. Maybe just get a 911 with a trailer hitch 😂

  14. Granite two tone. Only mono colored offered is black, which is a great color for a garage queen, but terrible for a daily driver. Happy to have a nice interior again, going from BMW to Ford was rough. I liked the Raptor, but have hated the interior every day I’ve owned it.

  15. That is a serious score IMHO. You're going to be happy. What color did you order? I bought my Trackhawk $5k off which was pretty good considering it was almost exactly what I wanted (the panoramic sunroof is a waste but otherwise ticked every box including color and interior) and had only been on the lot a few weeks. There's was the year earlier model on a lot I was offered $10k off of but I paid the $5k for the year newer one...and looking back glad I did. In this environment and with supply chain being what it is, $10K off for an ordered vehicle is a rocking good deal. Again, might be because of a lack of orders after satiating demand for a very specific type of vehicle...let's face it, not everyone wants that much truck. I think they're kick ass and I am shocked by how nice the interiors are. vroom vroom... HS

  16. Now at $10k off! Kind of crazy, I'm guessing there are a couple dealers that come out ahead just ordering a ton of vehicles.

  21. Cleaned the MAF sensor on the Beemer yesterday, reset the codes on the computer and have logged 75ish miles without the CEL coming back on so let's hope either that was the actual cause or it was just a random hiccup.

  23. Yeah...if you do anything recalibrating, you have to "crack" the PCM and it's clear to the manufacturer. What I can tell you is the platform is an absolute beast and if you choose a good tuner the odds of fragging the motor are extremely low. A simple pulley swap for more boost will not do it. You have the benefit I do of dual fuel pumps and you should have enough injector headroom on 93 to simply add a bit more. Now...my advice is leave it alone. At least until the warranty is up. That's what I advised my friend to do and fortunately, him being relatively young and a family man, he's left it alone aside from powder coating the deadlock rings (don't ask). I'm in the queue for a GTS. It could be forever w/ things going the way they are but I really want one. Gentian blue... HS

  24. Actress Ellen Terry, aged 16 - photographed in 1864 by a wizard of early photography, Julia Margaret Cameron in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. I've visited the museum in her house and studio. (Apart from Cameron's astonishing work, there is a bronze statue outside of Jimi Hendrix)

  25. Absolutely. I'll turn you on to my tuner. A simple pulley swap and more mojo...easy peasy. I'll give you my number and share whatever I can. I run E85 full time. The tuner also provided a "flex" tune so if you want to swap between the two you can. The only thing about E85 is that you consume 30% more fuel but it's cheaper so the rub is it readily available in your area. My TrackHawk has the same motor your TRX would have. I pulled the blower in the driveway with some friends' assistance (the blower is a pig as it has built in cooling and well...MOPAR), swapped to a smaller pulley for added boost (you need an extractor I would gladly loan you), shorter belt, bigger injectors, a cooler thermostat and a tune/calibration that you need to "crack" your PCM (control module) to use. I use HP Tuners for software and run VMWare on my Mac Pro so I can run Win to use the tuning software. You'll void the warranty but warranty shwaranty.... I've run a 10.3 sec quarter mile at ~132mph and I pushed her to 187mph at the standing mile (Texas Mile) a couple of weekends ago....weighing 5617lbs with my arse in her. Coefficient of drag 1.0...hahaha. Stock catalytic converters and exhaust. I could do a lower pulley / damper swap and pin the crank and make more but I'd have to pull the cat's which I don't feel like doing as it's my daily. Vroom vroom... HS A buddy of mine took delivery of this gem earlier this week. Carrera S stick car. I'm so jelly... HS

  26. MSRP from a local dealer. It’s .3” longer than the Raptor and 1.2” wider, so it should feel exactly the same. Since 702 HP isn’t enough, any recommendations on tuners for it?

  31. RIP the dead when an SUV ripped at speed into a Christmas parade in a small community in Wisconsin. At least five dead and 40-odd injured. He first hit schoolchildren and then a parade of dancing grannies. The police have the bastard in custody,

  32. ^^^ Late to the party but I think you'll like the TRX a lot. By all accounts its way more stupid than anyone needs but pegs the fun meter at 10, as long as you don't mind something like 10mpg. Me - CEL came on in the BMW. Code reader says it's related to the engine running too lean. The interwebs say it's like a dirty or failed MAF sensor or a vacuum leak so I'll start tomorrow by cleaning the MAF and resetting the code and going from there.
