Another new artist to me - another strong voice. five seconds flat Lizzy McAlpine 2022 https://album.link/i/1604657567 Example: I started to this listen to this a while ago, but it took me three days to get past the first song (above). It hooked me hard. Lyrics, voice, production (soundstage and close mic), and the use of silence was so well done. I had to switch from my daily listening on Bluetooth over to my AT L3000s to dig past the layers. And I was rewarded. Finally getting through the album and there is more of the same. I have not heard the use of pauses and silence so effectively since discovering Chris Thile and ‎Nickel Creek. There is something so captivating about bringing a song completely to a stop, makes me lean in and take notice as to what is next. So much more satisfyingly than throwing a wall of sound at me with all pots maxed. Needless to say this will go into heavy rotation for a while.

I didn't know this existed. Now I do and I am the better for it.

I'm satisfied with 400V. Started with 500V ten years ago. Reduced to 450V a couple of years ago and now 400V for all my electrostatics, including DIY T2. You might try stn0214. It's surface mounted piece, but it can be soldered in standing on the ksc5026 pads.

It would probably work, but I wouldn't call it a 'good' replacement. You would have to deal with a different package, higher Cob and lower Hfe. In theory any NPN with sufficient breakdown voltage can be used in that position, but since it is the only gain stage in the regulator (both the STN9360 and the SiC FET are followers) and consumes very little power, I tend to use lower current parts with potentially higher Hfe. The compensation cap value was designed for the KSC5026M, so if the replacement part has lower Cob, increasing that cap may be necessary for the stability of the circuit.

@VPI - like Doug and Steve recommended, even coating and allowing for even drying will be your best defense against cupping. For aesthetic purposes I usually go thinner for coasters than the above piece but that stock started 7/8” thick and I could only bring myself to surface it down to 1/2” (roughly) to get proportions close to what I wanted without feeling totally wasteful. And if you want some super weather resilient exterior coasters with designs on them just let me know and we can laser etch some glass for you.

So, I listened to all the tracks that she has on Tidal (10 total). The example above caught my interest with her power, gravel, lilt and tone. But this following track really impressed me. Needless to say, I am now following this artist.
