I wanted to read this before watching the movie. Perhaps a mistake. It is one of the best written books that I have read in a long time and I fear that there is no conceivable way that the movie is going to do it justice. This is my 2nd Delillo after Underworld which I also liked but not nearly this much. The characters and dialogue are stellar. I am savoring it. Excerpt: Bee was quietly disdainful of wisecracks, sarcasm and other family business. A year older than Denise, she was taller, thinner, paler, both worldly and ethereal, as though in her heart she was not a travel writer at all, as her mother had said she wished to be, but simply a traveler, the purer form, someone who collects impressions, dense anatomies of feeling, but does not care to record them.4 points

According to best science available nowadays, the most effective single treatment for sinusitis is local steroids (Fluticasone is as good as any other). The relevant issue is getting the product where it is most needed and in the proper doses. We need to make sure that the sprayed aerosol goes to the middle meatus, which means pointing the tip of the cannula into the nose towards the inner part of the eye, right where is the ethmoidal sinus and the drainage areas of the frontal and maxillary ones. It's advised to use your right hand to spray the left nostril and the left hand for the right nostril, this way it's easier to control the direction of the cannula. Logically one should do a thorough cleaning with serum or boiled water with salt at some pressure before the Fluticasone spraying. I always advise Rhinodouche for the great design of the soft bottle, it produces a large flow of liquid and you can precisely control the pressure to your needs. Like Dusty says, you need the pressure level that you can tolerate without irritating the nasal mucosa: In a case like yours I'd use 5-8 serum cleaning sessions per day, two of them right before the Fluticasone, which I'd spray twice in every nostril, every 12 hours. Trimetoprim/Sulfametoxazol is OK, as good as any other until you get some bacterial growth and antibiogram performed if that were necessary.4 points

spent way way too much time on home barista lately… ordered something ridiculous last week. Lagom P100 in silver. special request added to swap to SSP brew burrs which are a recent development and should allow for peak light roasted filter coffee and focus on turbo shots for espresso… meaning the next purchase will probably be a Flair 58 or (if another order round opens up) an Odyssey Espresso Argos. hoping for the latter. wife likes lattes.3 points

1995 opus. Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness Smashing Pumpkins 1995 https://album.link/i/721224313 Example (of many): I didn't listen to much of 'current' music in the 90s. I was all over the place once I got my first main rig. But happy to have listened to this, I really liked it, with its ebbs and flows. They are much more than the '1979' tune that we all know.2 points

Agree with Todd! Thanks for the great advice. I'll up the number of my daily cleanings. The PA took a sample for a culture. The results should come back on Monday.1 point

hoping for late February arrival. the Flair would be a bit more hassle, so many add-ons and correct, i’d have to hack the milk portion separately. Argos can give me the wand and the lever action i’m looking for and not cost me 3 grand.1 point

Are we allowed to bring up Smashing Pumpkins and not mention Pavement? Also giving Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness an early morning try.1 point

I, on the other hand, listened to a SHITLOAD of music in the 90's. Also went to a crazy amount of concerts. I was teased about being able to pick something that I would want to see/hear every night of the week. If I might recommend a couple favourites: Curve, Cuckoo and Pubic Fruit Depeche Mode, Violator Garbage and Version 2.0 The Gathering, Mandylion, Nighttime Birds, and How to Measure a Planet? godhead, Nothingness and Power Tool Sigmata Halou, We Only Love You and (technically 2001) Wiser My Bloody Valentine, Loveless Nine Inch Nails, Broken, The Downward Spiral, and The Fragile Slowdive, Just for a Day, Souvlaki, and Pygmalion Stabbing Westward, Darkest Days and Whither Blister Burn and Peel ...and probably a shitload more I'm forgetting. Me: listening to some a capella group called Washinton University Amateurs.1 point

None of those is an antibiotic, all together would help to produce less mucus and lower inflammation, but the mucus cleaning is very important. In a few days you'll be noticing the relief. Fluticasona is administered as spray or in drops?1 point

I've been doing that for 2 weeks now. It's not helping. Will do. Thanks.1 point

Mia, one of Emily's grad school classmates is the lead in this song. We love acapella and Mia has the most beautiful and engaging voice.1 point

Happy new years, but it feels like Christmas. Dan was gracious enough to share some roasts with me from Marmot. I started out with the Rwandan. Espresso pull. I got it pretty close the first time, with 22g in and 42g out @ 35 seconds. There was a touch of sour in there, which is what I would want on a first pull. But there was tons of fruit from this, blueberries, some strawberry and hints of blackberry, with some cocoa in the background. I went a touch finer on the grind for the second pull, yeah I went right back for a second double shot. The second was still 22 in and I pushed it to 44 out. The berries were still there and it brought down the sour just a touch, like I wanted. After the taste test, I then made this into a latte, the berries still came through and just made a nice beverage. I will probably push the extraction just a little more to increase the depth, but very happy. Thanks Dan. I will be first in line for the next group roast buy.1 point

A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson - Fun bit of pop science. I enjoyed it. He went into topics that I don't follow and gave them some history and context with humor. and another Short (Brief) history book. A Brief History of Black Holes by Dr Becky Smethurst Dr. Becky is someone that I follow on YouTube to keep me updated on my Astronomy news (all things JWST). And she wrote a book. It is overall a good read. It only suffers, like most physics (astro or otherwise) books, for me in that there is a lot of time spent in history and background before getting to the few new ideas and concepts. Like the Katie's book above, I did get a few new things and I enjoyed her writing. She writes as she speaks, which I always enjoy. An example of a recent post. So, I mostly read non-fiction. I don't mind novels and can enjoy them now and then. I tried to read this the other day: (no pic) To Have and Have Not by Ernest Hemingway This came after watching - Midnight in Paris (2011). It got me thinking, how much Hemingway have I read? Not much. So I picked this at random. And I have to say that I didn't get very far. The writing and voice were okay, but the use of the term, nigger, was so pervasive and derogatory, that I just couldn't continue. I thought of it is this way, what if he was saying, 'filthy whore', over and over, would I continue? Nope. I may try something else at some point, but I was done with that book. So, now I am reading: If You Meet the Buddha on the Road, Kill Him! The Pilgrimage of Psychotherapy Patients by Sheldon B. Kopp Good luck all..1 point
