I just completed testing both channels of the latest version of the smd version of the CFA3 boards, and here are some distortion measurements: Test Setup: balanced 1KHz/6Vrms from Tektronix SG 505 oscillator, to HeadAmp Gilmore CFA3 (balanced output), to General Radio 1840-A output power meter & to Tektronix AA501A THD analyzer (which has about .001 to .003% THD on its own). 2Vrms Output THD Test (Load, THD) 300, .002% 200, .002% 150, .002% 100, .002% 50, .003% 32, .007% 16, .01% 6Vrms Output THD Test (Load, THD) 300, .002% 200, .002% 150, .002% 100, .002% 50, .003% 32, .013% 16, .15% 20Vrms Output THD Test (Load, THD) 300, .017% 200, .017% 150, .018% 100, .022% 50, .26% (12W) 32, .42% (18W) Max Output Level THD Test (Load, Watts, THD) 300, 2W, .03% 200, 3W, .03% 150, 4W, .04% 100, 6W, .05% 50, 12W, .26% 32, 18W, .42% 16, 20W (meter limit), <1% ZF, <.3% SS One thing that surprised me was the 2 channels had virtually identical THD (even in ZF mode) out to 2-3 decimal places until getting down to ~16 ohm impedances where there started to be a little variation8 points

While we are on the subject of useless camera formats - I long ago got rid of nearly all of my collectable camera gear (the Graflex was a gift, received subsequent to that purge). The one piece I kept was my Pen FT half frame with bellows and slide copier. Because who doesn't need to convert all of their slides into even smaller slides?2 points

Picked up a D610 and 50mm f/1.4G, full set, under 13,000 actuations, for so cheap as to be free. I loved my D600, but sold it for Fuji. Between the 610 and the Q, I’ll be set to shoot my upcoming wedding (will have to pass things off from time to time, of course!). Need to get an 85mm; I have an 85mm, but only AI-S. Gosh it’s a good time to buy DSLR. I’ve seen D4s for not much than I spent on the 610. Though in… used condition.1 point

almost but not quite disconnecting the L- and R- with a relay didn't solve all the problems, I found 2 conditions that remain, depending on how far the plug is inserted: 1) R+ and GND becomes connected to L+, L- of the headphone I think this is OK, but I'm considering disconnecting the GND pin of the 4.4mm jack. As a balanced headphone jack, I don't think the GND has any real purpose 2) R+ and L+ connect to L+, L- of the headphone this is the condition just before the final push to get the plug fully inserted. I'm not thrilled with it, but it may be OK. adding a 2nd relay or using a 4 pole relay to switch all 4 pins would also fix both issues1 point

Thanks! Al, his wife Claire, his Neice Dorothy and his Sister (Dorothy's Mom) Corrine and I gathered Tuesday evening for dinner and board games. My favorite game, which I make called Pegs & Jokers. Claire kicked all our asses in the first game, and nearly won the second, but I squeaked by her. Al and Claire are in L.A. today, But Corrin, Dorothy and I are going to the movies then dinner out.1 point

In and Out would be a great name for a gay bar catering to closeted homosexuals. There could be a coat check up front, where you check your Carhartt jacket for a nice sequened number. Piped in Toby Keith music in the entry way, would give way to Donna Summer upon entering the dance floor. Pictures of rugged Hollywood stars in the entry, like John Wayne, James Cagney and Rock Hudson would give way to stars like Paul Lynn, Charles Nelson Riley and Rock Hudson in the main bar. Employees in the front room... Employees in the back room...1 point

Tested the 4.4mm short protection today. The relay disengages if the plug is even .5mm from fully inserted, so i think it will work IMG_3731.mov1 point

I did something silly. There was a Kenko fisheye adapter listed on the 'Bay. It mounts to the front of a conventional lens with a 58mm filter thread. The seller had it up for $40 + $18 shipping + Taxachusetts. I adjusted an offer until I got shipping and tax to bring the total to exactly $50. The guy accepted it within half an hour.1 point
