This was far better than what I was expecting. You have to be from my era to understand the shift in Hollywood that underpinned the "Brat Pack". Prior to this point in time, movies weren't made for teens about teens. This was the beginning of a fundamental shift in movies. Hollywood discovered that teens were a viable market, and it wasn't long until the movie industry was flooded with teen movies. John Hughes was at the forefront of that shift, and other directors followed suit. I remember those films had a real impact on me. So many of my friends had crushes on Demi Moore and Molly Ringwald. While in secret, my crushes were on Andrew McCarthy and Rob Lowe. Anyway, it was a very interesting perspective on a nostalgic time for my generation.4 points

Holy crap, some big names recently..... Donald Sutherland is a minor deity in my book. Oddly, my two favorite movies of his are Eye Of The Needle and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He had a level of golden touch IMO....3 points

Celtic Woman - Dúlamán "Dúlamán" (Irish for "channel wrack", a type of edible seaweed) is an Irish folk song. The lyrics of the song relate to the Irish practice of gathering seaweed, which has been done for various purposes, including as fertilizer, bathing, and food. I watched a pizza documentary some time back, about Connecticut pizza, and Sally's was mentioned as a favorite.1 point

Finally started putting my guitars up on Reverb. Two purples and one pink, no lie. For those that want to follow along on the pre-emptive yurt emptying: Dusty Chalk's gear1 point

This shows a bit of what has happened to the town: There has been a second eruption since that was filmed but the town was protected by the earthworks. Iceland is generally out to get us though so I snapped this picture last week while in the north west town of Flateyri. It shows the memorial for the people lost there in an avalanche in 1995 and the massive earthworks above the town designed to try and project it from happening again. It's the dull A shape you can see at the bottom of the slope. The earthworks proved their worth in 2020 when it mostly protected the town but it will be upgraded again to fix issues that popped up. Also in 1995 another small town was hit earlier in the year killing even more people.0 points

Leon McBryde, one of my favorite Santa performers and a good friend of mine over the past 15 years or so. He was famous first as Buttons the Clown in the Ringling Brothers circus, and later in life as the professional Santa Claus at The Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas. He and his friend Stephen Gillham worked as a "Brothers Claus" team teaching all of the tricks of the trade at most of the large Santa training venues. Suffice it to say, he was one of a kind. https://famousclowns.org/circus-clowns/leon-mcbryde-aka-buttons-biography/ https://santaclaushall.com/2017-inductees/leon-a-mcbryde/0 points
