  1. The cats broke the glass lamp in our entryway, so I needed a non-glass replacement. Similar to a design I made a few years ago, but smaller and with some refinements.

Tonight's Culture https://pa.marin.edu/blog/music-marin-chamber-players-forced-flee Educational, where we learned about the irony of fleeing Nazi Germany only to be later denounced to the house committee on Un-American activities because you were the wrong kind of anti-fascist. 3. Tried a new to us local restaurant, Maison Pucha Bistro. Pleasant experience on the food and drink. For anyone in H-town, I would recommend the escargot, beef empanadas, the bouillabaisse and the lamb osso buco. I asked them to make a rye sidecar and they did a great job...not overly sweet. HS

  7. Tomorrow morning I will attempt bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes. Dorothy will cook the eggs inside in a skillet, as I worry the seasoning is not ready for eggs yet. There's going to be a learning curve, as this thing can get plenty hot! I'm already thinking of shrimp jambalaya, stir fry dinners, fried rice, and so on. Smash burgers for certain!

  8. Love my flattop, Steve. Smash burgers might be the best way to eat them, homemade friend rice is sofa king good, and being able to cook 9-12 pancakes at once is a first world problem, but still glorious to overcome.

  10. Didn't take pics, but cooked bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes on the new griddle. Dorothy cooked scrambled eggs inside. Worked fantastic! My assistant griddler (DOTU)) and I made quick work of it, and had fun.
