  1. Don't do it Jim. Perhaps others have had a good experience with Sennheiser USA, but not me. If you need replacement parts, just order them and have them send it to you. When Sennheiser replaced the o-rings in my pair, they stripped the 4 screws in each cup that keep the baffle together. Now I understand that these screws are bad in the first place, but charging me over two hundred dollars to pop some pads into place and unscrew some screws is just a mistake I won't make again. Parts alone was under sixty dollars, the rest was labor, tax and shipping. On the form it said ground shipping was included yet they still chraged me for it. They also somehow managed to slightly dent one of my grills, but luckily I talked to Alex from APS and he told me that he could probably fix the small dent and use better screws that I will provide him for sealing the baffle. I'm not sure about the proper way to test drivers to see if they are in spec. but this scenario did not seem right to me. I first got a notice from Sennheiser saying that my drivers were not in spec. and that I needed to have them replaced for a just peachy 400+ dollars. But before I just said ok to getting new drivers I called Sennheiser myself and asked to speak with the person in charge with testing the drivers. I inquired as to how they test the drivers, and his response was as follows: "We just listen to your phones, and your phones have no low end dude." So I asked him if they replaced the suspect o-rings to make sure that the baffle was sealed before they listened to them, and he said "uhh, yeah I know what you're talking about..." but it really didn't seem like he knew exactly what I was talking about. I hung up and proceeded with the repairs minus the new drivers. The invoice that they gave me have a statement saying that the drivers were tested and that they are in spec. But I have a feeling that nothing really was ever tested. I have listened to my pair and to my ears they sound wonderful so i'm convinced that the drivers are still in perfect condition. This was a dissappointing experience to say the least and I should have realised this when Sennheiser told me that they did not even have an HEV70 to test my phones with. At least the HEV70 came back in perfect condition, I was afraid they might have just left it there and not even shipped it back with my phones. Considering they are Jim's and not mine that would have been an extra fail for me.
  2. ^Ah very nice. I hope to dip my hands into vinyl some day...
  3. The HD800 is a headphone that I have great interest in auditioning in private. From my experiences with various auditions I found them to have precise imaging and able to layer different sounds similar to the O2s. The one thing that seemed to be off from my listens was the soundstage not being unique to the recording like on the O2s. But hence my longing to really audition these in private to find out for myself. I'm really curious to those who found them technically marvelous but not musically pleasing as part of my joy in the O2s is in their technical merit. I just have this feeling that if I owned a pair i'd love them. I have received my HE60s from Senneheiser recently along with Jim's HEV70.(Jim if you're reading this, its ready to go back to you.) I've been listening to the HE60 and its a completely different sound than the O2s. For some reason the HE60 pleases me even though it is technically not a very great headphone.(at least from my experience with the HEV70) Slightly harsh upper midrange, deepest bass is missing to me, lacks the weighty foundation/authority the O2s give music, not really detailed and diffused images, not much layering. But what bass is there is very tight and has little bloom and the increased treble can give sonics more bite and preceived clarity. Its a very fun headphone that sounds supremely fast, tight and clean. In fact, the fastest headphone i've ever heard(whether thats acutal or preceived). I like them enough to recable them and find out just how far the BH takes them. Since this poll is mainly between the Senn stats and the HD800/dynamics i'll refrain from voting until I further audition or own the HD800 for myself, but gosh I feel that the HEx0 series and the HD800 are just so different in presentation, in the end it would be impossible for me to choose one or the other. They both seem to excell at what they were engineered for.
  4. Alison Krauss - Now That I've Found You
  5. Speaking of the Matrix, its funny that today I read that Will Smith was offered the part for Neo but turned that down instead to star in Wild Wild West... I just can't imagine Neo from the Matrix series being Will Smith. But either way, Wild Wild West was a flop at the box and The Matrix turned out to be successful. Guess he chose the wrong film to star in. or
  6. I happened to be talking to a friend of mine about our views on Shaquille O'Neal, and he was arguing about how Shaq does not completely suck anymore. While it may arguably be true that Shaq still posseses some of his former dominance in the NBA currently, I happened to pick up this selection for him that just might change his mind.... Witness the horror.... Here is a track listing lol: 1. Intro 2. (I Know I Got) Skillz - Def Jef, Shaquille O'Neal 3. I'm Outstanding 4. Where Ya At? - Shaquille O'Neal, 5. I Hate 2 Brag 6. Let Me in, Let Me In 7. Shoot Pass Slam 8. Boom! 9. Are You a Roughneck? 10. Giggin' on 'Em - Shaquille O'Neal, 11. What's Up Doc? (Can We Rock) - Fu-Schnickens, Shaquille O'Neal 12. Game Over

In regards to the Triple fi 10 orders on the Logitech webpage, I talked to a Logitech agent today on the status of my order. The agent told me that my order was going to be shipped out tomorrow and he confirmed that it was ready to go. I ordered them at around 9:30AM on December 4, so if some of you guys are waiting on your orders to ship they are most likely going through the 3 day processing stage, and should ship out around Wednesday or Thursday. I actually meant to order 2, one for me and one as a xmas gift, but I accidentally put in an order for 3. If I don't keep it(I really don't know why I would want two pairs of Triples around), i'll list it here on HC for the same $99.00 deal brand new in case anyone who missed out would like it.
  15. IME from having owned and played both of the earlier versions of both, Guitar hero I/II/III and the first Rockband(have no idea what "Band Hero" is or what Guitar Hero they are on now, five or six?) Rock Band was a more casual/social game, while Guitar Hero was all about beating "Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert and playing until your wrist was sore and your fingers felt like they were going to fall off. While both have songs that can be a technical challenge, RB would most likely suit the casual gamer, assuming your mom is not a hardcore gamer who could shred through all the songs on GH with a blindfold on.
