Not sure if we all saw the same video (below), but without a doubt the most disheartening comments were around the line of DSD is good, but Double DSD, man, that sounds like vinyl/studio/real/whatever... That said as long as the hardware is compatible it's more a 24/96 v. 24/192 than BR v. HDDVD comparison (at least in playback competition), no? And of course the number of DSD studio recordings (before PCM mixdown to Redbook, etc.) has to be huge compared to the number of SACDs ever released or current DSD downloads. Again, I'm excited about DSD, but the difference between DACs at the before mentioned DAC-off was greater in any format than between formats. Thus buying that good old ECD-1.

No cable here for years. Get content from Netflix, Hulu+, BT, Digital broadcasts over antenna, and through browser. Currently done with iPad/Nexus 7, MacBook, and Roku/GoogleTV boxes. Don't watch much sports and tend to watch more films than TV, so situation may be different, but besides an occasional broadcast I haven't missed cable at all. Thankfully BT helps with the Girls and recent Breaking Bad ep. fixes.

On the DSD front, Al and I were at a recent DSD DAC event and I think it's safe to say we were impressed by the Benchmark DAC2 (at least in that setup). I'm certainly interested in DSD, though the differences between DACs were greater than the differences between formats.

No sign from Parasound or Google. Maybe. I'd be curious if anyone has successfully played back files from a USB Flash drive.

Does the display have a demo/fireworks setting?

Not sure the Zdac would be able to accommodate USB drives.

If you end up going with a DAC that doesn't support USB/SD, the Squeezebox Touch has SD & USB slots (can only use one at a time). You could feed up to 24/96 from there.

The Very Best Of Enya (Deluxe Amazon MP3 Edition) for $2.99. Why? I'm not sure.
