The Revox & the Lampizator are interesting "bookends" to the overall thread. The former being how Lukasz started out, soldering DIY tubed output-stages to older TDA154x-based CD players, and the latter being his uber-expensive current offerings. Not sure if that was planned or not, but...touche' 👍 Can't comment on the latest Lampizator retail products, other than I think I've heard some models once or twice at meets over the years, and they sounded good in those specific instances. I've also heard Chord-based systems that sounded good under similar circumstances too.

Sorry for the necro-bump, but I have a question along the same vein, & thought I'd ask here, rather than creating an entirely new one (apologies to the OP). I have a desire to add one or two subs to my Magnepan 1.7i speaker system. Up 'til now, I was thinking of going the REL high-level input route described by the OP & a few others here. But I recently chanced upon a YouTube video that demonstrated a better way to integrate a sub into a Maggie system using an "active crossover" to truly separate the frequencies sent to the Maggie's & subs. This, in contrast to running the mains at full range & trying to blend them with the subs. So, my questions are two-fold: Is the active-crossover method truly a better way? (it seems to make sense) What do I need in an active-crossover device? How much $$$ (my budget is "budget)?

Just finished season 1 of Furious (Hulu) - very intense:

Colin From Accounts: An Aussie-based comedy centered around two people who are brought together by a car accident & an injured dog who they agree to care for. Occasionally annoying, but overall funny, and an easy watch. Good palate-cleanse in between other more intense shows.

Sprung (Prime) - another fun comedy series. One season, easy watch.

The Outlaws (Prime) - fun watch. We're through the first two seasons, looking forward the third.

Legends (2026) - 1990's British customs agents enlisted for Thatcher's war on drugs. Quite good & engaging.

Spider Noir (Amazon Prime) - enjoyed this alternate take on the Spiderman genre alot.

Peaky Blinders (Netflix) - I know I am so late (like, ten years late!) to this party, but here we are finally. Binged thru the first two seasons, & started series #3. Not perfect, but lots of "fun" (usually in a dark-ish way). Dang, life was harsh not so long ago.

Thelma Houston & Pressure Cooker - I've Got the Music in Me (Sheffield Labs recording on CD) - Picked up at a local Goodwill on a whim based on the label. I was not familiar with the Sheffield Lab era but was intrigued by the cover, so I grabbed it. Have I found my newest obsession?
