Ayup....dropped Karen off at the airport this morning, she is going with a friend to a resort in Mexico. I'm back home watching the winter wonder-fucking-land (OK, it IS lovely, from the inside).

Really?!!!! REALLY???!!!!! Why do you keep doing this to me?! Seriously, now I need to consider replacing the Black Diamond with one of these.....I loved the T3, just basically flipped a proverbial coin and kept the BD over that.....

That's awesome Jacob! Congrats on this and the other good things in your life, nice to see!

Thanks all! Yesterday mostly sucked during the day. I had to work instead of taking the day off, and ended up having to escalate a VERY late-reported issue by our EU Finance team. Something they had almost a year to review was raised as an issue about 1.5 weeks ago, and will now likely cause us to miss a milestone of providing some important information to our CEO. Lovely.... But later in the day, had a really good 1-on-1 with our CIO, who noted how much praise I and our team is getting worldwide, and also will have our back on this latest issue. And at night, I got to have my annual Birthday Dinner at my favorite local fish restaurant, with the woman I love and my mother-in-law (who was on good behavior). Then capped by a short-but-sweet call from my son at college. This morning, after staying off Facebook for many weeks, I logged in to see almost 100 well-wishes. Cause for smiles!

RIP Jean-Phlippe.....

Oh, agreed, hence my quotes..... I still remember Doug schooling Frank I. from one of the headphone review sites, when he thought the GSX-MK II was much more powerful than the ECP Black Diamond because it was bigger.... I got that BD amp, still love it to this day.

Happy Birthday Tom! Maybe Chinese tonight, but definitely go for a good Pa-straw-mi on Rye soon.....
-
FWIW, even the "lowly" Black Diamond - which kicks butt over a lot of other amps - works really well with the HD-800, too.

One more good wish for Suzy and her dad! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

RIP Jim, a very unique talent.....

Product placement, baby! Between the BHSE in the movie and this.....just the start!

Happy Birthday Gene! Miss you, and hope things are well with you, your wife, and family!!

This song (remix version, I think it's called Red Line White Line Version or similar) has my all-time favorite long intro, to any song ever.....

^^ Incredible story....sometimes I wonder about our subconscious, and its way of telling us things.... And man, RIP Charles Hansen. Original tragedy was his accident and paralysis, now yet another tragedy....

I've put SSD's, even the cheaper ones I could find (Crucial, PNY & non-current-gen Kingston a few times), in about 8 different machines over the last 3+ years, and like Nate said, they've increased the useful life for 1-2 more years easily. I have then gone and sold all but 2 of them (still using one, a Xeon workstation that is equivalent to a core i7 2nd gen; and just upgraded the other - a Celeron-based micro desktop - to an SSD and loaded Win10 on it, will sell soon). As for SSD's, the various Samsung EVO lines get pretty good praise, and I've used them I think 3 times. Should be able to find some great sales now.

Happy Birthday!!!

@n_maher (and any others?) Check out this inexpensive Dell Laptop. Similar specs to Chromebook but has Win10 and is likely a heck of a deal. Can use browser to get to whatever Google Apps needed I'd bet..... http://deals.dell.com/mpp/productdetail/qt2

Agreed on Dell, Lenovo, Asus for consumer. MSI tends to be more gaming-focused, yes? So features may be more than needed, but quality is there.... FWIW, though, I have heard a LITTLE bit of issues with some of the Dell Inspiron line. But maybe not any more than a good low % of lemons. And also agreed on where not to buy....I have not bought from NewEgg since that RAID enclosure fiasco. Even after I talked to them, and they said it was the corrected unit, they sent me the wrong thing. And then wanted to charge me to ship it back. Scumfucks.
