Had the same experience in the Santa Cruz mountains. When living in the mountains, smelling smoke in the early morning definitely gets you worried. I had no idea it was coming from way up north. I spent a large chunk of my childhood living in Napa, and I've never seen that many fires happen at once.

RIP Bill. Sorry for your loss, Wayne.

I agree with Pars, the Aeons seem like the more interesting option.

Happy Birthday!

Allan Holdsworth - Road Games

Everything's a 10.

RIP Tom Petty. Horrible day all around and fittingly on a Monday.

Impressive that you got through it already. Isn't it 18 hours total? I'm on episode 4, so it'll be awhile before I finish.

Happy Birthday, Wayne!

Happy Birthday!

I like everything Ken Burns does. Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to it.

Happy Birthday!

They are probably embarrassed. Well done though. Controlling your emotions is tough in a situation like that.

^ I need to watch that. I burned through the first 3 seasons of, The Americans. Meh so far.

I think you nailed it. The movies completely ommited any human struggle other than him taking 2 seconds to get over the latest woman he was screwing before shooting another dozen bad guys while making a joke. I definitely enjoyed the books more. I never read, The Spy Who Loved Me.

Ian Flemming had a lot of real world content to share at a time when there wasn't a lot available about intelligence. He had an amazing life and was involved in and influenced much of what's still going on today. I don't think people were attracted to his books for his writing style which is nothing special to say the least.

Allan Holdsworth - Metal Fatigue

Agree, that is a next level kind of evil.

And

Happy Birthday!

I like the "add turntable" part.
