  1. If he is using Apple display with Thunderbolt, he could just daisy chain them without bothering with hdmi.
  2. It appears I had inadvertently installed a network "accelerator" app provided by my motherboard manufacture and that was actually throttling my upload speed.
  3. R.I.P., Tom Magliozzi.
  4. Also if you are charging it from your hackintosh, don't.
  5. I'd missed this earlier, but congrats Ian! As for me, I spent part of the day fixing (software/OS issue) my in-law's laptop. I'd forgotten how painful it is to fix a pre-built Windows machine.
  6. Oh I know it says that, I'm just sad I stopped getting the maximum advertised speed for both down/up which I was getting consistently until about a month ago. Not sure what happened. Perhaps it has something to do with my current promotion of "we'll match your upload speed to your download speed as a bonus" even though every tier except the lowest one already had this for years (at least in my area).
  7. I wish my town had gigabit service. Hell, I'd be happy if my upload speed would go back up again - I barely get half the advertised speed now for some reason.
  8. ^ Is that an IKEA rug?
  9. Yeah, the best case scenario would be Apple offering repair/replacement service to everyone affected like they've done in the past with few of their products. Now I'm wondering if I should still eBay off my 2011 MBP (still works with integrated GPU) as I was planning or hold onto in on a slim chance that Apple offers repair/replacement program.
  10. It annoyed me enough I switched mine in less than two weeks. For me, its fan noise was very distinct from other fans in my case and really bothersome.
  11. Thanks, the case design made the cable management a lot easier than the last time I built a PC.

  13. ^ The sleep center has faster connection than I do.
  14. Added couple fans and remembered to take a pic before I closed it up. Yes, I should've just ordered a NH-D14/15.
  15. My team sucks on even-numbered weeks.
  16. I personally prefer matte screen as well. I hate that the glossy screens are really reflective. You may be fine with it, though, especially if you are able to control the lighting setup.
  17. I didn't remember seeing anything below HD4600 under supported/tested list, but guess I was wrong.
  18. ^ Probably true, but most Intel integrated GPUs are not supported under current version of Photoshop and some features may not work at all.
  19. If you are just using LR, you don't need a dedicated GPU as it doesn't use it.
