Jebus. Even with pricing each album at $30, the player comes out to $3750. I guess they've been talking to Hasselblad (see Lunar, Stellar, or HV).

They're reportedly using R9 290X and R9 295X cards on the new iMacs.

The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post
Salt Peanuts replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Off Topic
^ I used to keep them in summer when I was growing up in Japan. Which is also how I learned that female praying mantis eats her mate after mating. -
Replaced the ancient desk I was using in the den/guest room with the small-ish dining table that had been sitting unused in the basement. The whole process took longer than I wanted, but now I have a much larger area for my computer stuff. Now I need to finish cleaning rest of the room so it can be used when my in-laws are here in two days.

Similar issue on my iPad 4 here, Nate. It has happened often enough that my fingers close and reload on a new tab without thinking about it when it happens. Still annoying, though. I've also had issues where links wouldn't respond right after a page has loaded until I move the screen in one direction or another. Haven't noticed either issue on my 5s, but I don't use it as much to browse the web. I have noticed auto-rotation has been been buggy/unresponsive on both iPad and 5s.

This thread brought back memories of when I worked at EMS. I don't miss that place.

General software advice for Windows
Salt Peanuts replied to shellylh's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
I'd forgotten about Google Drive/docs. As much as I don't care for them, for home use, it'll likely do. Thanks Chris - EAC is the one I used to use, but I couldn't remember. As much as I liked using foobar in the past, I need the computer to feed my AppleTV so I'll be using iTunes. -
General software advice for Windows
Salt Peanuts replied to shellylh's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
So rather than make another thread, I thought I'd ask here for some Windows 8.1 software advice/suggestions. Free MS Office alternatives. I used to use OpenOffice way back when but what are other options? DVD ripper. I was using RipIt on Mac to (slowly) backup my DVDs. I would like something that makes exact copy of DVD as opposed to convert it to a video - I've Handbrake for that. Program to import audio CD. Looking for something with robust error correction. MP4 tag management. FWIW, I was using iDentify on Mac with good results. Also, is Avast still the choice for antivirus software? -
Damn, I didn't think Baltimore would sweep. Let's see if Kansas City can pull off its own sweep.

Lightroom/Photoshop/Gaming Box help
Salt Peanuts replied to Salt Peanuts's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
"It's alive! It's alive!" Actually got it working late last night/early this morning, though I still have some more programs I need to install/track down. Even have the 970 in there now. Speaking of which, should I be concerned that the card is sagging a bit? The last time I built a PCI, graphics cards were much smaller. -
Same here, though I wouldn't mind seeing Orioles winning it all.

Due to recent computer troubles, I completely forgot to setup waiver pickups and lineup.

Lightroom/Photoshop/Gaming Box help

Thanks for the offer, but actually managed to grab a MSI Gaming few hours ago. Now the plan is to start the build this weekend and then finish it off when the card arrives sometime next week. -
^ They're hideous.

Shelly, any progress on the Linux front?

Frick, I missed on 970 again! On a positive front, it looks like my sister will be able to snag me one of the cases I wanted. -

You're probably right, but I was building PCs before modular PSU were available and I don't know any better. And my Windows disc is MIA - which I'm sure will turn up after I've purchased/installed a new copy.
