You're not gonna belieb this, but I, too, got Domino's last night around 9:04pm ET. Mmmmmm, the new stuffed crust is solid.

I didn't know there was an eclipse today.

I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was fucking-with-someone's-dog bad. That's horrible.

Have heard good things about it and it was on my list; guess I'll bump it up.

Thanks, everyone! Really appreciate the sentiment, Al. Been a really rough time as of late, but birthday was a good day. Went to Bateau, a place @cetoole and I have been meaning to go to for over 7 years. Finally went, and while not the best steak I've ever had, it was really enjoyable. Started the evening with some local wines from the bike shop across the street, Metier. 5pm reservation, so we could get first choice. These were the options on my birthday. Pupperz Cowz Appetizer Onions on the side, obvsly Mmmmm, brioche Salted butter with burnt kale wrap, or some nonsense. The salt on top of this butter wasn't the best thing of the evening, but like... top 3. Beef-fat washed walnut old-fashioned Cheeseburger croquette... slider Colin version We got the 21-day dry aged 18oz bone-in chuckeye and the 126 day dry aged 5oz sirloin tip cap, both med rare. Lemon-herb butter on the chuckeye and bone marrow butter on the sirloin tip cap. Nori butter on the side for Colin. I tried it; not my scene. You'd probably all love it. Mashed potatoes. Milk, butter, potatoes, and gruyere. Some wine Colin knows the name of A little token from the place Finished it off with a little complimentary cookies and creme foam Rest of pix: https://imgur.com/a/birthday-dinner-2025-bs1yDDT

He's done upgrades on things for years, including reasonable upgrades on the Ozark Trail hardtail a couple years ago. Started with intro: Then the Ozark Trail Ridge Pro Max Ultra... Studio:

Seth is fantastic; have been following him for SO long.

Happy Thursday, Shelly!

There's a reason Satan invented delivery services...

So this is 3 hours, but well worth it. I know people who've put it on at 1.5x or 2x, but there's a point where a company shows a spreadsheet of their actual numbers and how the tariffs affect their product. Spoiler alert: on a product with a 5$ margin that's MSRP is 130$, it's costing them over 90$ for each one that's sold.

Happy belated, mi amigo de cerveza

Heh, it was a while back, but I couldn't let the twink thing wait another 10+ months.

Feliz cumpleanos!

Happy Belated, Stevephanie!

*hugs* So sorry for your loss, Al. Fuck cancer, indeed.

Maybe you can work out a "you stick one in me, I stick one in you" trade? Art of the Squeal?

Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley. I believe that's what they call "checkmate."

Well, the average Amerikkkan has a 5th grade vocabulary. I had to tone it down a bit for Alaskans and lawyers.

Happy Thursday, Al! Hope you buy yourself something sick for your 80th!

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/03/health/james-harrison-blood-donor-death-scli-intl/index.html RIP to James Harrison, the man who saved 2 million babies. I don't have this, but I'm O-Neg and CMV-Neg (universal for neo-natal emergencies.) I learned about this guy when I found out I had some pretty special blood (7% of pop has O-Neg, and 15% are CMV-neg, so I'm in the 1%). He hasn't been able to give in a bit, but he made a huge impact.

2" Rack, as much as I love 1UP (and I do), after losing 5-6k of bikes/tools/skateboards, I wanted the most secure bike rack I could get/afford. That wound up being a Thule T2 Pro XT 1.25" 2-bike rack. (You know me and deals, I got it for free from Performance Bike after I mathed the fuck out of them.) That was my 2nd choice, behind Kuat and just above 1UP, because the built-in security was the best. Cost no object? Kuat Piston Pro X There's a Thule T2 Pro XTR now that supersedes mine, and a more rational choice, but don't overlook the in-between Kuat Pisto Pro. https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/topics/biking/best-bike-rack Outdoor Gear Lab is a great review site, and a good starting point (trusted by both me and the Ginger Avenger) for most things outdoorsy. If you have your own system of securing the bikes on a rack? 1UP HD still has tons going for it.
