Darn! I had forgotten what it is like to have snow, yesterday morning the low in Miami Beach was like 62 degrees Fahrenheit and I love it. My wife was ready to put on a down jacket. Sure hope you all better days ahead w/ less snow.

Thought about it, but I really want a Mac and $ is a bit tight w/ all the Christmas gifts going on. Plus the card and PSU was under $100 with S&H. I really should do a re-install of the software to get my PC speed back up but it takes a day or so and now I do not have the time.

A new 4X/8X 512MB AGP Video Card and a 550 watt PSU for my 5 year old PC.

jinp6301 thanks for the thought. Fitz, I tried 2 other sources and three other amps. I would have plugged them to a 220 volt outlet if it would have helped. I sure hope is something simple ... I have had them since 11/7 and man I love this suckers. At least I received the HE5 and the EF5 today. Straight out of the box it is a very nice sounding can/amp, much better than I expected. I know I don't hear the upper frequencies as well as you youngsters but even so I hear no sibilance and the BASS is awesome!

The right ear-speaker on my K1000 did not work today when I tried to use them. Both sides were working fine last night so I have no idea what happened in the last 16 hours or so. There are no children nor pets in the house, so either my wife broke it due to all the attention the K1000 are getting or one of my recessive personalities broke it on purpose to get attention! So I am coordinating w/ APureSound to have them take a look since the previous owner had them re-cable it w/ a the V2 cable. Sure hope is something simple otherwise I may have to look for a pair of replacement speakers. BTW my K1000 are mid production with S/N 06191. Normally this would piss me off to no end, but since my father was diagnosed w/ "C" and so have a couple of friends things like this do not bother me as much.

Attempted to install a higher capacity PSU (550 watts) and a new 512 MB Video Card on my Dell PC. Unfortunately I received the wrong parts from OutletPC.com, second time the send me the wrong parts even though not only were they provided w/ the model number but also with a picture of the video card. Of course they are not opened on weekends ... @#*&)%

That is very nice of you, I am still looking for a set of small speakers and the Fritz are on top of my list. Today I attempted to populate an amp board ... it went up in smoke upon powering up! I better get new glasses to see what the heck I am doing.

I have a fairly low number K701 (S/N 1437) and they took a very high number of hours to fully open up. Also re-cabling directly to each driver does indeed help open them up as well as normalize their presentation. IMO they are much better sounding than the Senn HD580/600 even with the Senn being re-cabled. Interestingly enough I prefer the sound of the K501 by a good margin (both re-cabled with APureSound V3 cable).
