List of Amps with Balanced Input...?
Just questioning your logic, since you transfer your dislike of Moon Audio cables to the amp, which isn't even designed by Moon Audio to begin with.

List of Amps with Balanced Input...?
The Luna isn't even a Moon Audio amp; it's designed by K&K Audio, Lundahl's US distributor.

playing DVDs on OS X
Well, I'm using the OS X install disc to reinstall the bundled software, but it's frustrating that it won't let me choose which ones to install but instead installs EVERYTHING.

playing DVDs on OS X
Actually my Macbook did not come with a DVD Player software; that's why I've been using VLC so far.

Source upgrade?
The headphone output on the Cary 300SEI is shit for low-impedance loads: they just added a resistor from the main analog output stage to lower noise, but in the process upped the output impedance on the headphone output. High output impedance + low-impedance load = YUCK! Bloated bass plus overly tubey sound.

Should I sell my rig? How about nearfield moniors?
Does ADAM have a "house sound"? I'm looking at the larger P22A for next year, mainly because I like AMT-tweeters, but I don't know if ADAM has that cold clinical sound.

Should I sell my rig? How about nearfield moniors?
That room is not that bad if it's just for audio. However, if that's also the living space, then having full-range floor-standers would be a problem.

Should I sell my rig? How about nearfield moniors?
I am quite happy with my monitors, and I had a headphone rig that was much better than his But seriously, having full-range, floor-standing speakers is pretty much next to impossible in college, since space is limited, and we move every year. It's probably better to get some decent monitors plus a good sub.

a little help with cork screw
so I think I might have fucked up: when I tried to cork the bottle after pouring a glass, I think I might have used a little too much force. Now the cork is kind of stuck there, and I can't pull it out. I would welcome any kind of suggestion.

So uh..well...new radiohead album coming out this week
Pitchfork is like the Stereophile of "indie" music: you can't trust what they say, even if on occasion you agree with them.

enough gain on TVCs?
So my TVC just got here today; it uses the S&B transformer. Let's just say that I like it a lot. It has enough gain for me in my system, and the biggest things that I noticed are improved dynamics and more realistic decay of instruments. Overall the TVC makes my current system has a more of the "there-ness" to the music. I was listening to "Cookin' with Miles Davis Quintet", and every instrumental just sounds more real I guess. The decay on Paul Chamber's bass is ridiculously natural, the most natural I've heard so far.
