I tried a pillowcase once, but my amp went to sleep........

Great combo... right there ....

That's why it takes about 2 or 3 songs after changing headphones to acclimatise your hearing before you critically listen to your chosen tune to do a proper evaluation.

I use a tablecloth I cut up and my sister offered to sew up the edges. I got 4 pieces of cloth and lots of leftover material out of it. 2 pieces for the BHSE and 2 for the DIYT2. The material is reasonably dust-proof and drapes over the gear better than plastic would. My second choice would have been thick terry towel, but the tablecloth turned out great in a shade somewhere between royal blue and navy blue.

I had a pair of the HD250 Linears, when the only other headphone I had were the HD560 Ovation II. Paid AU$300 for them brand new and didn't like them at all. I gave them away to a nephew.. MY loss, his gain. For isolation, I found the HD280 really good.

He just got Warren Chi as his manager.

So, we could run a thousand or more amps off it without loading down the output........

Let's face it, innovation is still innovation - even if it is a dog's breakfast.........

Why would you want an amp to do the job of a preamp?.

Heated is good. It shows a passion for what is being discussed.....

Hope the new L-300 is as good as the SR-202...

with appendages like that, I'd go for a Sigma or a 4070.........

That's like buying the new Senn Orpheus and dicing the stupid marble base for a noice chartreuse pvc item a friend crafted on his new 3D printer... Replace the stock volume control with an RK27, . . . Ditch the glitzy valve covers for perforated nickel plated steel items... Hoik the volume control knob for a pvc item in lurid purple made by the friend with the 3D printer. Replace the fuses with silver coated titanium wire and insist that they are unidirectional items. Scrap the headphones for the earliest version of the Kingsound, but block the backs so that they become closed units. Replace the power cable with a Virtual Dynamics "JUDGE" sourced from Coconut Audio. And - as the piece de resistance - paint the chassis with a dark green chalkboard paint so that it shows up no dust..... I wonder how Sennheiser would handle any warranty claims on this one. I'd be inclined to stick ESP950 badges on it and send it to Koss, and see if they come to the party.......

Singlepower, for sure......

Does that POS stand for what I think it does? i.e. it's a piece of moist brown...? ...and the complementary part marked NEG stands for Not Even Genuine....? ... or, perhaps, Not Even Good...?

My profile..? Bald head, stub nose and receding chin...... impressive..?

Post #757 on this site... http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/lounge/64538-resistor-sound-quality-76.html and http://www.audioheritage.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?8720-Resistor-signatures But, as usual, YMMV or is that YGGY..?

I'll be impressed when I hear your finished Carbons.....

But... everyone knows that carbon resistors give a nice organic sound signature.... think 1960's transistor radio........
