The Headcase Stax thread
I've been banned from HF's Stax thread for making fun of edstrelow's and richard51's dynamat modding exploits. The thread has been cleaned up more than somewhat. Imagine using dynamat resulting in changing the performance of a solid state amp enough for chalk and cheese difference, and you get the idea of what was being posted.

Leaving the amp on 24/7 Is it ok?
Must drop out of Class A at about 50 microamps............ Or, perhaps, heatsinking is grossly overdone...... Perhaps, even, it has (ahem) modest power output Then, again, It could be any combination of the above......

Why headphones are not going to save Hi-Fi
WOT, there's an infinite number of 'em. Cardinals, ordinals, transfinite, etc, etc, Infinitudes to the power of infinity, and more. Infinity factorial, even doesn't start to cover it. Georg Cantor says so......

Dynamic to Electrostatic Headphone Converter
Nope...... Calling something the best EVER when he hasn't heard all the main contenders speaks of smug and brash elitism. He da man and if he makes the call, all we lesser mortals need to bow at his sonic altar of knowledge.......

Small amplifier for Stax
But, that wuz their big selling point....... Exclusivity....... Who else would build something like that...? Cavalli, perhaps..?? His amps are getting rave reviews at the SoCal meet thread over on the dark side,,,,,,, “That propaganda is good which leads to success, and that is bad which fails to achieve the desired result. It is not propaganda’s task to be intelligent, its task is to lead to success.” ― Joseph Goebbels If it weren't for electricity, we'd all be watching television by candlelight. George Gobel

I tried to drive my KGSSHV once, but I found the lack of a steering wheel or gearbox very disconcerting........ Sitting on heatsinks in mid-summer is also not to be recommended.........

That's why it takes about 2 or 3 songs after changing headphones to acclimatise your hearing before you critically listen to your chosen tune to do a proper evaluation.

Blue Hawaii Special Edition
I use a tablecloth I cut up and my sister offered to sew up the edges. I got 4 pieces of cloth and lots of leftover material out of it. 2 pieces for the BHSE and 2 for the DIYT2. The material is reasonably dust-proof and drapes over the gear better than plastic would. My second choice would have been thick terry towel, but the tablecloth turned out great in a shade somewhere between royal blue and navy blue.
