Help from M Audio owners
I think I've lost the driver CD for my M-Audio Transit USB The M-Audio website only allows you to download driver updates and not the driver suite itself. Would anyone that has the driver CD mind making a CD image for me and uploading it? Nero, CloneCD, Alcohol 120%, etc should all be able to do that.

Any tax gurus?
Worst case, I'll just leave the account open and keep transfering the maximum non-taxable amount allowed back to the US monthly

Any tax gurus?
I have to save this. The buy/sell idea isn't possible with this amount... No people Maybe we could substitute one or two of the H-C lawyers with finance people

Any tax gurus?
Yup that seems the way to go.

Any tax gurus?
I want to convert a fair amount of Euros in a EU bank account to my US banks. This was money earned from work, and EU income tax has already been paid on it. Are there any issues/complications I should be aware of when transfering it back stateside? Any tax issues with the US? I'm going to contact our hospital's financial adviser next week, but thought I'd ask here.

Jack seeing how you like the Wheatie, you should get one of the MOOTs to build you Pete Millet's ECC99 K1000 amp

Ayre USB DAC
So the PCM1704 doesn't take a 16/44.1 input and convert it to 24/96 in the DAC chip? If it doesn't, then it was a poor assumption on my part (I was under the impression only the TDA chips did no upsampling internally). I like the PCM DACs as well, I haven't read anything posted by Charles Hansen on his thoughts on digital on AA. But hopefully he is sticking to the PCM family

Windows advice.
They won't stop support for XP for a very long time. Windows 2000 is still supported.

Ayre USB DAC
Anyone can correct me on this, but I don't think there is a NOS Dac chip that supports anything higher than 20/44.1
-
Ayre USB DAC
Since it accepts 24/96 I assume the DAC chip is still an upsampling DAC though?

Ayre USB DAC
From AA. Interesting...

A Question of Amplification
You should look into making sure both your speakers are the same size first, I bet that is causing some issues

The Headcase Stax thread
Good that nutty connector is gone.

The Headcase Stax thread
That was my impression as well regarding the depth. They sound like everything is in a flat plane instead of the 3D image the SR-007 MK1 projects. It's not a deal killer with studio recordings, but for minimally miced jazz and symphonies I really couldn't stand it.

Your recent music purchases
The Miles Davis Great Prestige Recordings vinyl box set is the last thing I bought. Probably the single best music purchase I've made; those performances are excellent.
