You're right. But the ice that eventually turns to water stays pretty darn cold. This is what we used to do on our 3-4 day canoe trips. The beer was still cold on the last day even though the cooler was all water at that point.

Add salt with the ice. It will keep the water/ice cold for days.

That sounds yummy. Today was my last day of vacation I can't wait until I'm only working half the year. So I listened to lots of music on the Omegies and did some packing. I thought about listening to every early David Bowie album, but I just couldn't do it; I'll save Bowie for small doses. On Monday I don my superhero cape again, to go back to saving lives.

You should try and snag a Denon DA-500. I think the sound would be right up your alley. They're cheap too. I would post internal pics of mine, but I've only managed to strip one of the screws

EKG Acoustics will make a six motor TT. Each motor will be large plant size pot diameter. The belt will be enormous. It will cost $200k and will generate so much motor noise that it will replace Michael Fremer's Continuum as the reference.

You have a an EAR phono in another setup, have you heard any of the EAR preamps? I thought the one my friend had (864, though modded) sounded amazing.

You probably just don't like the HD650. I'm not a fan either.

Unmodded or modded in my experience the D2000 was pretty average to below average. The Denon is like a Cerwin Vega subwoofer, there's nothing great about it other than its sheer bass volume. Approaching the $500 mark, I'd personally just spend more money and get the Koss electrostat system if you didn't need to have a closed headphone.
