This download worked for me: foobar2000 3rd party components foobar2000 .9.5.3 recognizes it under file types (allows me to associate foobar with Shorten files), but I can't confirm whether it works beyond that since I don't have any .shn files.

Cool, it's a decent cable. If you can DIY try out an all silver cable. Again YMMV how big a difference it will make. The stock adapter isn't great, and those metal things they put on the ends of it are cringe worthy shit.

The differences are subtle even when I was using a pretty decent system backing the k's. I didn't notice any difference in detail but it sounded like the mid treble region was slightly less emphasized with the grills off. Whether or not it's the grills or sample variation; I have no idea.

If anything would make a great budget K1000 amp I'd want to hear the AudioSector chip amps, only because luvdunhill is such a fan (trust him).

lmilhan wrote a review of the Big Joe saying it sounded just as good or only slightly worse than a Pass Labs Aleph 3 (which I am highly skeptical of his claims, but they might be true he was using a really low end source, Entech or something) which is why I think so many people started using it as a budget K1000 amp.

Also at CanJam he was using an SCD-1. I'm sure the source played a large difference in the sound as well.

It might be that he just didn't like the sound of the O2. They are very different from the Qualia. The HE60 and Koss ESP/950 sound closer to the Qualia. And won't the O2 hold its charge for a very long time once charged (unless someone discharged them before the meet)?

As far as modern RTS go, SCII looks ok. The new C&C and Company of Heroes look amazing for current generation games. No Blizzard game ever looks stunning since they aim for it to run on a variety of computers.

I noticed that too. D1 was dark. The cinematic trailer gave a distinctive LotR feel in a few places. The city with the waterfall in the background (Caldeum?) looked breathtaking. Also another amazing isometric RPG Westwood Studio's Nox.
