  1. goddamn, thats worst then then those ppx3 pictures lextek posted. i dunno if amps are supposed to look like that or what, but i tend to think that's something waiting to catch on fire.
  2. haha, fine sold. figured it was atleast worth seeing what people thought. Im gonna rip a crapload of dvds onto this thing. what else can u really do with 80 gigs portably? I dont think i really need 20,000 songs at work
  3. yea, but it just feels kinda dumb not using it on the mac, theres gotta be something it does better with it? The thing was made by apple. Am i missing something? I dunno. Figured it was worth considering atleast. I dont even really use mp3s. I'm going to need to just keep an archive of music somewhere. Also not quite sure how easy it will be to convert dvds to mp4 on the mac as well. I already got a windows program to do that.
  4. I just got an 80 gig ipod. I have a macbook pro, and a desktop pc. Thing is, all of my storage is on the pc. What would the advantage be to running my ipod off of the mac (and I guess mapping the storage over) or using it just natively on the pc with windows file system. What is the benefit of using the ipod with mac in general? This is a retarded question, but I guess I'm stuck cuz i haven't started importing music to it cuz i cant make my mind up.
  5. hey, I'm still breaking them in on the minidac, my extreme is still in the mail I guess ( i really hope actually, he's taking forever!!). My initial impressions weren't so hot, yet i remembered with the senn sd i had years ago, not so hot either, yet after i guess about 60 hours of burn in, the high end smoothed out, and the detail really improved. The cans seem very fast, do drums awesome, and do have still a bit of edge (though they always did of course) towards the high end. Midrange feels about the same. They probably like well over 100 hours, and I really need my amp to get here to really hear what they can do I guess.

G3 at madison square garden last march. Got dream theater coming up aug 25th at jones beach : )
  7. jpak, i bought nikon gods amp. His amp certainly has a lot of texture, i was shocked at how good it sounded (despite the hum I had fixed and am waiting for the amp back). Will bet the bendix tubes i'm getting will make it even more rediculous.
  8. finally got these thingies back, they breaking in and stuff. someone explain why do cables need to break in? That seems retarded. Anyway, they sound more detailed, but not quite right just yet. Im gonna let them play all weekend off my minidac since my amp isnt back yet from mikhail. Do u guys think the volume level has anything to do with this break in voo doo?
  9. i dunno man, i think synergy could helped? It was like that rediculous SDS, the r10s, and a mark leveinson cd player. I was actually listening to some very bass heavy music too, i think tool
  10. i dunno man, i heard them on mikhails SDS with the rediculous huge caps. Maybe it was the version with the better bass. It was the most articulate, cleanest, most dynamic bass I ever heard on a can. Maybe i'm just nuts. Actually I am, but not the point. Compared to l3000, which were on hand actually (though perhaps not broken in yet), they were far superior in the bass department on that amp.
  11. Hey, If money is no object, and you want them badly enough go ahead. They are the best cans I ever heard in the right setup. Looking at your sig, you may want to find a different amp to go with them, they are pretty picky cans I feel to do them justice. For instance, though markl loved them with hr2, i wouldn't really consider running them solid state at all (especially with one of those). Best I've heard the r10, was on a singlepower tuned for it like the an SDS i heard a few years back, or the insane sds xlr I heard a balanced pair on at the national meet. Yet, I loved tom's setup with his modded cary 300 sei the most, and that might just be nostalgia from it being my first head-fi meet and all, but I did sit with it for a good hour. Never heard anything like it b4, and still probably never had an experience comparable (audio wise). If you went with r10s tho, I'd say u can easily pass on those grados and l3000's u have, they are just the best out there I think (and u might want to clear some funds up for them anyhow). What do they go for now anyways, like 5 grand? Yuck. I think you need to be out of your mind to pay so much on an audio item. Anyhow, yea If your enabled and motivated, do it up.
  12. that thing looks nice, i wonder how it would compare to my minidac. Take one for the team.

u gotta smack a hoe sometimes. let them know! or just don't talk to people on myspace. I had a few strange experiences like that, and that's enough for me.
  15. does audio technica make waffles and chicken? i'd like some.
  16. happy birthdya mike. enjoy some of yer brews!
  17. how is the sound on the iphone?
  18. i had a pair, but i fed it to my dog. she liked it better.
  19. i did pay a whole lot to get my hf1's hooked up with black ebony, but i can't see spending 1000+ bux on these custom headphones he makes. As cool as the wood looks, i doubt it makes a huge difference. I'm saying this after having my hf1's for almost 3 years. People that buy and sell these left and right just to get different types of wood are psycho.
  20. how exactly are they tuned?
  21. in mobile, do they have hookers that suck dick for crack? that's all i need to know.
  22. he's just a wannabe, it's all good. it's like us real new yorkers, we think they are just funny to look at. they amuse us.
