  1. I have listened to a pair of 4070 before, and it sure has bass. I'm wondering how Stax does it. By the way, ChrisX, if you are able to design an open back cover (3d design), I can help you print them out with my 3d printer. Then you can change the cover to see if the sound is any better. Wachara C.
  2. That's what happens when you close the back side of electortatic headphones - no bass. Wachara C.
  3. Wow!!!
  4. Using a vise to get the pins out, you might need a jig. I use the vise to hold the plug firmly then lightly hammer on the pins to get them out. Actually getting them out is pretty easy. Pressing them in the new plastic is more difficult. Kevin also suggested to make a jig to press them in.
  5. Thank you so much, Pirx. Wachara C.
  6. Can you help measure the exact dimension of the driver? Aren't there any dust covers on the driver? Wachara C.
  7. That should work nicely.
  8. I make a few using ABS plastic printed by my 3D printer. They work fine.
  9. Very nice build!
  10. Really nice work Kerry. You really amaze me everytime I see your build. Happy New Year! Wachara C.
  11. Happy New Year!
  12. I'm sorry to hear about the terrible accident. My prayer to you and your daughter for a speedy recovery.
  13. Very beautiful work Kerry!
  14. The R40 and R41 are indeed identical. I replace both with new resistors and now the amp is back to singing. The root of the problem is that my PS has gone bad and put out 24VDC instead of 12VDC. Somehow the excessive voltage only destroys one of the caps and R40. Thanks Kevin and Birgir for your help. Wachara C.
  15. Hi Birgir, Do you think that R40 and R41 could be the same value? I search pictures on Google and found a shot you made long ago.
  16. Gentlemen! Please help me fix my SRM252A. One of the 4 250V, 22uF capacitors is leaky. I've already replaced it. The resistor, R40 (near the transformer), is burnt so bad that can't tell its value. Does anybody have its schematic diagram? Wachara C.
  17. Nice build Birgir. I really like your small regulated PS board. Wachara C.
  18. That's a very beautiful build, Chiguy.
  19. To check for imbalance I would check the wires and their connections first. Then if the problem still persists, I would recoat the diaphragm.
  20. Wow, I really like that amp, Birgir.
  21. I agree with Spritzer that all you'll have to do is to open it up to clean it.
  22. Nice work s_r.
