That band is my guilty pleasure. I'm a sucker for vocal harmony and Lindsay's smooth, polished production in the studio.

Can you post a pic of it, CJ? I'd love to see what he cooked up for you. My post was actually in jest. Doug has had something cooking for me for a while now that I'm looking forward to finally taking delivery of next week.

Think you can make me an amp that looks similar?

Shiiiit! I didn't realize the RS had 350HP. I thought it was 300. Dude, RS all the way. Man... you are going to blow poor Jeff off the road. Only logical upgrade for him is an R8.

RIP, CMoy. First build I ever did.

Buying new, in demand cars sucks. The dealers don't offer shit in the way of deals and the wait blows. I had to wait 2-3 months for mine to come over from Japan.

Nice to see Tyll's full review. So the HD800S is a fix to the HD800's most glaring (ha!) issue, but not necessarily an upgrade over a properly modded HD800. http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/sennheiser-hd-800-s-tweaked-and-delightfuland-french-diy-response#VuYqRTimQI3XdHvB.97

If you like the STI definitely try the base WRX too. The steering and suspension might be a bit weaker but the base WRX arguably has the better engine. The torque curve is huge and flat and comes on at about 2.5k vs 3.5k on the STI. I friggin love the WRX engine. Also, I don't know if you get a chance to do this on the test drive, but my favorite thing to do is to time my boost to come on right at the apex and let that AWD claw me out. Also:

Wow... I've only heard the Ether at meets but the pairs I've heard aren't really that bad. Maybe you just had a lemon.

You know, if you liked/loved the Legacy GT I friggin' love my WRX. It is also quite a big bigger inside than the Focus. Just sayin' With a little modding the WRX could be a track/rally monster. You might not beat that many cars in a drag race but you sure will have fun every time behind the wheel. The WRX is definitely more utilitarian than it is luxurious which tends to turn a lot of people off, but a loaded WRX turned out to be the perfect car for me in my price range. If I wasn't saving for a house down-payment I'd have put some money into my car. I'd tighten up the suspension, reduce the body roll and get better brakes all before I'd even consider adding more HP.

FWIW I'd skip the Golf R. In addition to VW being a shitty corporate citizen lately I've seen it reviewed fairly poorly from some auto-journalists whose opinions I trust. E63 AMG wagon would be nice

My sister drives a Focus (not RS) and the back seat is fine for 2 adults or three kids. I think if you buy an ST or RS you get a free racing school day here:

Last night's GSW vs. OKC game was as fun of a regular season game as I can remember. Three of the top five players in the NBA all went absolutely crazy, but the MVP showed he is an alien from another planet, going 12/16 from three (tying the NBA single game record for 3s) including this one to end the game in OT: If you don't like that, you don't like NBA basketball! Happy birthday Naaman! We have to race again soon, man. It's been too long. I blame the biscuit eater.

I met up with some buddies and did a little comparison of the 800S against a modded 800. I liked the 800S better as I thought the mod took a little too much away from the stock 800. That being said, the 800S it's still on the bright side of things and might benefit from a bit of lighter modding or some careful EQ to reduce the treble energy just a bit. The 800S is a damn impressive headphone. I wouldn't buy them if I already owned a pair of modded 800s, but if I was choosing between a new 800 or 800S the S is the easy winner.

Damn, Umberto Eco too? Goodness, horrible day for 20th Century Lit.

RIP Harper Lee. "Mockingbird" is a hell of a book.

I gave this a try after a few people here had it rated in their top 5 desert island albums lists. Boy am I glad I did! The musicianship and instrumentals are incredible. The growly vocals feel like an acquired taste, but that didn't hurt my enjoyment of the album.
