I think you're confused here. Headphones and speakers are balanced so long as the ground on the driver is tied to an inverted signal instead of the ground of the amp. I fail to see how this is faux-balanced.
Thank you for shopping at Softmagic.
The item you have selected is discontinued by the manufacturer.
We will not be receiving any more of those units.
This order is cancelled.
We apologize for the inconvience.
As far as I can tell from searches, it is. Even if it's not though, knowing my insanity level and access to DIY people, it will be modded in the future anyways.
Sounds like he was bipolar. Sorry to hear of his loss, he wasn't a great actor, but he could have been in time. Should he have been given it.
EDIT: Not sure if that came across right, I'm going to play the drunk card if not...
What do you think of this?

I'd have to get it shipped to someone in the US, but that looks like a great deal for a rebadged transit, some possibly interesting software and a shitty pair of headphones w/mic that I could use should i ever need such a thing.
Well, he's heard them in my rig. Not sure if that qualifies, since it's not really designed with Grados in mind.
I agree though, keeping the SR100 and building a nice rig around them makes more sense for now.
Since the digital EQ/Dac that I'm planning on useing this with has MIDI input and outputs, could I use something like this instead? I don't know much about MIDI connections, are they analog or digital?

I've been watching this for a while... apparently they aren't skimping on the internal amp either and they expect it should be fine with high impedance headphones.
Forgot to mention that I will be using this with the Behringer DEQ2496 that I just bought... so I don't need any functionality that it already has. I plan on modding the DEQ with newer DACs [probably the same ones that are used in the transporter], a better PSU and a zapfilter output stage. Will be feeding it using AES/EBU from my Eastsound and with optical from whatever I buy as a computer interface. Should be fun.
I wouldn't use the balanced outs, but I believe you can hookup keyboards, guitars, and microphones directly to it... which could be cool if I ever get off my ass and buy and electric bass.
Or even the E-MU 0202 USB... http://kellysmusic.ca/productinfo~id~1164666560.htm
So many choices. \
EDIT: Oops, looks like the 0202 doesn't have optical in/out. Need to move up to the 0404 to get that functionality.
From airfoils site... "1. Due to delays inherent in the AirPort Express, Airfoil is not recommended for use in conjunction with video."
So, that likely means it wont work well with games. It's looking like a USB to toslink adapter is the best way to go.
Anyone know of any DIY designs? Right now it is looking like the Trends UD-10 and the M-Audio Transit are the only serious 'audiophile' contenders for a commercial solution.
