As others have said, portable amps, including the pico, aren't really for the Sextetts. If I were you, I'd just pick up a used pair of esw9s. They sound just fine unamped with an ipod, and make for a really nice portable rig. You can always get a pico later.

As far as earbuds go, a co-worker got PK3s awhile back, and I was pretty impressed with them for the price. I'm not sure you could get better in the price range. I'm not up on iems, but there was one pair I listened to at CanJam from Uncle Wilson (wish I could remember which one of many models) that sounded really decent. Iirc, they were about $50.
