  1. It gets even weirder, that little board even knows how to speak python! Why a raspberry pi needs to talk to snakes, who knows.

    You first.

More specifically, it requires DirectX 12, which is only fully supported on Windows 10. That was one of Microsoft's tricks to force more people to update to it.

Yeah, the size of games these days is why I bought a big SSD, and a Tice-sized HDD. I shuffle games between them depending on what I'm actively playing, and don't have to worry about deleting then redownloading games later.
  6. It feels like everything related to lawn or garden has a way of seeming like such a simple, minor task, and then taking a literal eternity to actually get anything accomplished. Related I recently got a new wood chipper that's been very instrumental in reclaiming some overgrown parts of the yard.
  7. I really love the occasional light strips in the wood, it's some great contrast.
  8. It's not truly manly unless you cut down the tree yourself.
  9. This is head-case, who gives a shit about thread discipline unless you're some rando?

  12. Today already feeling much better, just a tiny bit of vague soreness and tightness in my jaw on that side. The endodontist wrote me an rx for norco but I just took some ibuprofen last night instead.
  13. Had a root canal done on a back tooth. Today was not as great a day as yesterday.

I have that monitor and quite like it; it doesn't take much adjustment of settings to get it looking its best. I got it before my new GPU arrived, and even on games running at lower FPS due to the resolution jump, it was still impressive how much smoother everything felt.
  15. I read that a long time ago, pretty sure I was still in school; don't remember all the details but I remember quite enjoying it, insofar as one can enjoy a book about such a dark event.

I'm boycotting Newegg over their absurd and predatory behavior since hardware, GPUs in particular, became scarce. I would recommend others not to shop with them if possible.

I do need a better DAC after I sold Doug my AA DAC, this Schitt one is alright but honestly not really doing it for me. $400 is a bit much.. Maybe. Maybe not.
  18. We have different tastes, seeing beans just... there is so unappealing for me. I know it tastes great, but the visual aspect puts me off.
  19. Happy Birthday, Bitch!
  20. Happy Belated Birthday!

Happy Belated Birthday, Chris! You've celebrated first birthday this year, but what about second birthday?

  23. Depends on how tight the clearance is in the holes, if it's not super tight it'll be a pain because you waste a ton of wick but will come out without too much work. A cheaper socket with flat pins will be ez pz to get back out, while one with round pins that just barely fit, yeah that'll suck trying to get out with wick. I can't say that I've ever actually put a large component on the wrong side before though.
  24. This may be a matter of technique because I've had very little trouble using a wick to desolder components. It only really gets tricky when a pin is attached to a ground plane or similar, but if it's just one pin that will rapidly sink heat like that, it's no big deal since you can just do it last.
