Gotta do the ball end. I have some Bondhus and they are great, but a little pricey. I ran across some Stanley (both in metric and SAE) some time ago in an Ace Hardware (I think, but can't quite remember) and they are pretty much as nice. These are standard ball allen sets in the plastic carrier thing with long "L" handles.
Did I say that?
I would take a look at Belden or Alpha or Carol multiconductor cable, or I would also consider just making your own out of SPC of appropriate gauge(s) and maybe some techflex. The teflon SPC should be good for 600V (300V mil-spec) or more. You will also have a problem finding anyone who will sell this by the foot I would think.
As far as the connectors go, my .pdf plug-in is having problems opening Mouser's catalog pages, and Switchcraft's datasheet is also a problem. Don't the connector pn's specify the pin gauge?
Agreed. A friend of mine who is a music lover was over the other weekend, and wanted to listen to something on the speaker rig. He has a kinda home theatre system with the typical tiny unobtrusive speakers, etc. I tossed The Planets on (he normally listens to classical) and the look on his face throughout and comments afterward were priceless. He may be in the market for better speakers soon, though probably not too big. And not that my system is that good compared to many of yours.
Someone who has listened many times to something and doesn't like them isn't biased against them... they just plain don't like them.
My youngest son's kitten that he found almost a year ago. He and some friends were going past the high school not far from out house, and he heard a kitten meowing next to a tree. She was too young for adoption (vet said 3-4 weeks), and we thought we might need to feed her milk with a dropper, but she did just fine.
First pic was a couple of months after he found her. Second pic is from a couple of weeks ago when she was spayed and declawed (front). She likes sitting up on her hind legs, and can walk on her back paws a bit.
You might look into giving them a finlsh like they would do on concrete countertops. Many commercial stands provide the means for mass loading with lead shot or sand. I would think solid concrete would work pretty well and shouldn't be very resonant (if at all).
Ahh, thanks. Going thru the list I didn't find much if any that I have. I did find Blondie Live, and looking at the jewel case, it was marked HDCD (even though it was a BMG pressing). Put it in, and once I hit play the HDCD light came on. Thanks, answered my question.
I'm still trying to verify if an HDCD compatible player I have is working or not. I haven't been able to get the HDCD light to come on with anything I have put in it. Supposedly Roxy Music-Avalon is an HDCD, but my copy was licensed by BMG, so I don't know if it really is an HDCD or not.
Into girl singers lately (always?):
Garbage: I'm Only Happpy When It Rains
Curve: Lillies Dying
(actually, a bunch of Curve stuff comes to mind. Just wish they were recorded better.)
You could also get some alligator or mini-grabber adapter clips such as these and take a crappy RCA plug, strip it, and clip onto the shell of it. Many test lead sets come with an assortment of attachments. I use a set from Mueller that works pretty well and wasn't very expensive.
That was really nice of Doug to take the time to do this. I would really appreciate it if he would ever have the time to take a look at my Counterpoint preamp that I have been working on with limited success for quite some time to eradicate a bit of noise.
That and the ones that can tell you what plating is used, and whether there is tin plating under the gold -> copper or not. And yes, they are serious
They don't seem to reveal PCB construction, etc. though.
I hadn't heard that Les was done doing Survivorman... bummer as I liked that show. I can certainly see how it could be hard on you though when he put it in perspective of having 25 weeks where he basically had starved
