Went to a friend's house to work on assembling my Ray-Way Sleeping Quilt kit. He's a professional when it comes to sewing and found the instructions pretty amusing. Then "we" started to put it together. He got it about 2/3 done in 2 hours. It would take me many, many hours to do.

CanJam 08 was great! But as I remember, all the Texas members dropped out and didn't come. Hmm, wonder if that is why it was so great? Hopefully some of them will come to CanJam 09 and we'll find out.

The glass beaker of my current Bodum french press is cracked and leaking. This is the second consecutive beaker that's failed in under a year. Can anybody recommend a small capacity (4 cup or 20 oz. range) french press that will last longer than a year? I would think that having a metal beaker or something similar would be good. Meanwhile, I'll start searching the web.

You're thinking of the wrong Michael Jackson. This one was probably the world's greatest writer about scotch and other spirits. He passed away fairly recently. I'm too lazy to look it up plus having a macaw sitting on my chest makes it a little challenging.

1800 isn't bad, but it's not in the same class as the tequilas Dan first suggested.

Is there any IEM or earbud that the AE-2 can't drive? I doubt it. I can say that an AE-2 easily drives UM-2 (IEM) and PK2 (earbud).

I'll have to tuck this away and see how amusing it is a year from now. Nate actually has a chance of making no major changes in a year, unlike some others here.

Thanks, we are too. We might have edged ahead of removing your kid's wisdom teeth in the contest to see who can spend the most on health care this month.

While he is young and has no health problems, you might want to consider looking into getting health insurance for him. In now two separate bouts with serious illnesses, we have about $8K in vet bills into one of our cats. We love him and will pay it, but it would have been nice to have. Of course, it probably would have been canceled after the first episode 7 years ago.

Lots of veterinary care for our oldest cat (12.5 years). We hospitalized him very early Xmas morning. The vet thinks he can come home tomorrow. Yay!

One of the really good and really bad things about this hobby is that you can change your mind later. So enjoy the KGSS and don't worry about the decision, at least for now.

If you like the Leica lenses and cameras, check out Panasonic cameras. They use Leica lenses and often you can find the exact same camera for a lot less. You just can't mind it being labeled "Panasonic" rather than "Leica".

This is one of the things that makes me prefer HC to HF. Modding and being called out is very public and transparent. There is very little going on behind the scenes. It's OK to call people out (when they should be called out) as long as it's done in a relatively civil manner. Al did that in the HC thread. Nobody has to feel that a friend has betrayed them because that rarely happens. Of course, people that can't take being called out don't last long here. That's because eventually everybody posts something stupid and get's called on it.
