Thanks for the advice, Antonio. I'll use the vaseline and cotton trick for this mornings shower. So far the antibiotic hasn't made a huge difference. There still is some draining, though nothing like yesterday when my ear canal was full of discharge. I plan on making an appointment with my ENT tomorrow. I'll keep you in the loop.

Thanks. I knew that the ear drum was now perforated but didn't think about water. I need to shower soon. Would you suggest stuffing a bit of cotton ball into the ear or something like that to block the water? Hopefully the Amoxicillin I'm taking will knock this down quickly.

After suffering from what I thought was a head cold for week and a half, I woke up this morning with a bloody, purulent discharge from my left ear. So off I went to the local Med Center and then to Costco for the antibiotics. I think that this is the first ear infection I've had since I was a young child.

I'd like to hear them, a little. I have no interest in "upgrading" my very comfortable and great sounding HD800 for a tiny improvement that I might or might not really be able to hear. I especially have no interest in paying around $3200 (cost of Utopia minus what I might be able to get from selling my HD800) for the privilege of "upgrading".
