Man, what's up with NJ? Sign Kovy to a big contract and bench him this early in the season.

Tough crowd. Old people have little tolerance for anything and expect a 3rd yr discussion on a topic. I just stay on the porch with the pups. You can see their point though. Until your friends have an epiphany you can only pity them.

With all that gear, someone wants to watch the Cubs? Sounds like doobietalk.

General DAC Questions/Tech Thread
Happy Camper replied to The Monkey's topic in Home Source Components
Thank you all for a readable and learnable thread on a complicated topic. Digital seems hollow or missing a fullness of sound that analog provides. Could it be that digital is on or off in signal transmission and analog has a full signal through the gray area between on and off? If this makes no sense, it's because I haven't the vocabulary to express it. When you go from a 128k to a 320k file, the music is smoother or more refined in presentation. Going analog seems to have the fullest or most refined sound. A wav. file should have the same presentation but can be noticeable on certain instruments as has been mentioned. Hard to detect unless you go hunting for it, but once noticed, draws your attention (like a fly on the TV). -

I think it will depend which Ryan Smyth shows up. Leadership and mop up guy in front of the net. At 33, his best days are behind him but a spark in the right place could bring out his qualities and motivate him. He had 26 goals for Colorado last year so he can still score. Three years left on a fairly expensive contract may not be what the Kings wanted in their youth movement as grinder/mop up players are aplenty in the league and the Kings have enough of those type forwards. The Kings fan site don't really give high marks to the move because he is on the the declining side of his career with a 3 year, $17mil. commitment. Others remember his C leadership for team Canada and hope he still has some gas left in the tank. I think it will help a young Kings team challenge for a 7-8 spot. IMO

Today's game is going to run him over. Too many 6'4" forwards who's sticks are carried at approx. 5'6".

Which tubes to make an Extreme Platinum turn into a β22?
Happy Camper replied to blessingx's topic in Headphone Amplification
There are a lot of SP amps being taken out of service. Float a WTB in the sale forums. I have the ECC1 and 2c51 adapters. Haven't tried any others. The ECC1 covers the 12a-7s. The 2c51 covers the 2c51/396a/5670/etc. Another nice front tube is the 6414 (ECC1). A bit warmer than the 2c51s but still detailed. -

The 2c51-5670-396a/5998 has been my best combo thus far. -
Pronger in Philly will be fun times for Crosby and Malkin. I was hoping the Blues would pick him up to mentor a young d but not to be.

Reviewed the ceremonies again and I don't get why Bettman don't just have the previous captain give the cup to the captain of the new champions. In uniform, on ice, unless of course you are giving it to yourself. He and Selig are endeared to the fans. Crosby and a few others were real dicks about the handshake, dissing at least a third of the team. That's young sportsmanship for ya. If Mario doesn't have a talk to him about leadership and responsibility, he'll have a short career.

Congrats to the Lakers and their fans. NBA champs.

Didn't watch the shake. He stiffed the Wings? OK, so he's a little punk. Motivation for next year. Still, the awarding of the cup should be respected. It's history. I could see a "Crosby sucks" chant but dissing the fans and team that beat them just looks bad.
-
Watching the ceremonies in Detroit was an embarrassment to hockey. They booed the Pens winning and chanted "Pittsburgh sucks" during the cup presentation is classless from the home of hockeytown. Their fans are good to take the backslap but won't acknowledge the fans of the Stanley Cup winner. Spoiled! Yeah fuck me. I said it.

Well there you go. Pitt fans are vindicated. Fargin great game.

The best to you and welcome. We aren't sorry for a damn thing so belly up. Don't be too thinskinned or you will need therapy. Tough crowd but one with plenty of gems if you learn how to mine them.

Has Pittsburgh gained enough character to overcome being blown out in a game 5? With another foe, perhaps. Detroit has them in a stranglehold and I don't think Pitt can overcome a solid defensive game that Detroit will cover them with. If Detroit scores first, it's done.
-
I won't bet against the Wings. Emotions aside, the Wings have more of everything in front of the back line. I think they have a strong enough backcheck to keep the pressure off their goaltending so I don't see Pitt's duo doing what they have been able to do thus far. If Chicago can stretch this series to 7 (don't see it), Detroit might get worn down enough that fresh legs could overtake them. If Pittsburgh can get the first game, they have a chance to take it. It is in Detroit's best interest to maybe let the Chicago series go another game to heal before facing Pitt. Yes, I realize that sounds crazy but a couple days can make the difference with some of their hurt wingers. Pride may say otherwise as tonight they are coming home. I'm sure they would want it ended for the fans. Stay tuned.

Hello Canes. You there?
-
The Wings division foes always played physical hockey without a lot of success. I'm seeing the Wings start flexing their physical game now and It's not good for the opponents. Chicago should give a tit for tat and take a run at Hossa. Not sayin the Detroit hit was dirty, just that's how it's done. Otherwise, the Hawks will be punked the rest of the series.
-
Can't wait to see game 7 in Detroit. I don't think it will be as rough as the end of this one because of what's on the line but I do expect to see some world class hockey.
-
Well, Beantown gets a game 7 with momentum. I don't think the Canes can shut them down but that's why they play em. I agree the Crosby/Ovechkin series has been the best to watch this second round. Pitt will be kicking themselves for letting game 6 get away. They still haven't learned how to control a lead. Hope I can stay awake for the Ducks/Wings game. Should be another thriller unless the Wings score first. Detroit plays a lead better than anybody in the league.
