A nice chassis for a MC step-up transformer and a pair of Jensen step-ups. Probably about 15 minutes and you're ready to go with this. Case formally Consonnance MC step and has a foot front and nice metal domed feed: ( 1 ) not two 1.27mm Bondhaus hex wrenches that fit the tiny Rega tonearm adjustment screw scary cables HPS Rumble Filter board ( 2 ) unfinished ends for 1455 series Hammond case (I can track down the model upon request) 1 short JH audio IEM cable ( 3 ) Duende Criatura tube rings, large fits 6SN7 and two small fit 6DJ8: Pair of BAT XLR to RCA adapters Pair of calibration weights iPod shuffle, great condition with a few marks.. first owner, bought at the start of the summer. Pearl phono kit. I actually have all the parts to build this, so if you're interested we can talk. It will take a bit to scare up the odds and ends, but I do have them. I have probably 50 pairs. ( 8 ) ceramic noval PCB sockets ( 4 ) CMC Bakelite UX4 sockets, includes mounting brackets ( 8 ) CMC ceramic octal sockets, includes mounting brackets large collection of mil-spec ceramic standoffs. Probably worth a fortune, if you compare prices at Mouser for these ( 8 ) noval ceramic PCB sockets, cylinder type ( 4 ) atmel atttiny24 microcontrollers ( 1 ) CS8414-CS lot of knobs ( 4 ) 7pin sockets, NOS lot of jacks lot of Neutrik powercon and speakercon connectors lot of spade connectors four RCA connectors, dialectric looks like Teflon, but no guarantees as I'm not positive where I picked these up to verify this lot of switches lot of power entry modules two chassis mount relays found a bunch of parts for the microphone preamp boards, also the boards are still available ( 2 ) TDA1541A matching numbers ( 1 ) SM5842APT ( 2 ) Li-ion cells illuminated panel mount ammeter lot of teflon tubing Goertz Alpha-Core M1-2 10ga flat ribbon speaker cable, comprised of two 0.750" W x 0.010" thick polyester terepthlate insulated copper ribbons, 2.2mΩ, 0.95nF, 6nH per foot Solid silver wire Acrotec: 99.99997% (6N) purity stress free copper wire from Nippon Mining, Japan *40μ (4.2Ω/ft.) copper wire with polyester varnish insulation. Excellent wire available for rewiring tonearms or any application given a sufficient number of paralleled strands. For most tonearms parallel about 15 ccw wound strands of this 46ga wire, or use fewer for ultra delicate applications,
  2. Remaining is the pulley, component cable, headphone cable, Ballsie, soft start, matched Wima caps, Serpac case, Jantzen c-coil inductors, both 22VAC transformers, wallin jig, heater delay
  3. rather not have to use those ears, you know how unreliable those can be
  4. I'm pretty much addicted to the stuff. The stuff I use smells like an Orthodox church, which improves my soldering. Wouldn't do without it for SMD soldering and most TH soldering. That said, there is solder that has a lot of flux present, such as the old non-RoHS WBT solder which is an appropriate substitute I guess.
  5. A calibrated measurement mic. I just don't trust the data provided by the manufacturer, and rather than always wonder, I'm going to invest in a calibration service. I really wanted to get get a Beyer MM-1, but they're outside my budget. Cross Spectrum has been recommended to me a few times for this stuff, so I'm about to pull the trigger with them.
  6. Really impressed with the Cohiba Dom.. Wondering now if my Cubans might be fakes, despite purchasing them personally overseas..
  7. Nice! I have a pair of Xicar scissors that have become misaligned.. Amy idea how good thier warantee is? Oh and a Cohiba Dom from Mike
  8. yes! One end goes into the IEC socket the other goes to the toroid. There is a timer that switches in the large resistor in series then removes it. Also, provides filtering of minimal sort. Similar in concept to this Soft-Start Circuit For Power Amps I cannot find them on Ebay anymore, but that's where I got it, preassembled. Works great in fact.
  9. buy two pairs and sell one? heh. It's one of the best performing tweeters out there. I would pair them with these: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=925 I was hoping Naaman would snap these up, he mentioned a while back having a pair of the above. I'd be willing to work a deal, 1/2 price?
  10. I plan on removing the pics above once something is sold. So, no pic, no availability. The text will remain. Perhaps this isn't clear
  11. thanks guys. ujamerstand, feel free to send an offer. Perhaps you need both? I do discounts
  12. ok, I have plenty of stuff that needs to go. Perhaps you do too. I'm open to all offers and if you're patient, I'll probably just give it away. Once this stuff goes, I have another list... so.. no prices, please make an offer. Pair of unopened, and unused ports. These are the best ports money can buy I suppose: Measurement Mic Preamp boards and Zen Headphone amp boards: A collection of Brown Dog adapters: Turntable motor pulley: Random component video cable: Mogami headphone cable: Onzow Zerodust, barely used: Twisted Pear Audio Ballsie, first generation I believe: Chinese Softstart Board, works great: A pair of mute delay and offset protection boards (http://www.amb.org/audio/epsilon12/): A pair of 30mH inductors: A pair of matched 6.8uF Wima caps for a LNMP (http://tangentsoft.net/elec/lnmp/): Serpac project case: New, never used Box project case: Pair of Vifa XT25TG tweeters: Pair of 14 awg, 12mH Jantzen inductors: Elpac 24VDC linear regulated supply: Plitron and Avel 22VAC x 2 toroids A couple high quality switches: Wallin Jig v2 for speaker measurement: Twisted Pear Audio four pole relay board A Chinese tube heater delay board, with indicator LED: Simple adjustable LM317 supply (http://tangentsoft.net/elec/tread/); A Bantam USB DAC (http://www.diyforums.org/BantamDAC/): Few random caps, including some Mundorf Silver and Oil and some nice large valued Solens: Four diamond buffers, with "pins" to drop into a 6DIP buffer like BUFXXX (http://diamondstar.de/dDB_overview.html):
  13. yes. I hope they'll work with my stands, if not we might want to rig up a scrap piece of wood to help out.
  14. The harshness probably comes from the "last ditch effort before I sell everything" mentality. It doesn't work that way, it's not about the end it's about how you got there.
  15. are these the limited edition JHI6 ? If not, you're missing out.
  16. JHI6's?
  17. cryoed JH13?
  18. I'd vote Option 1.
  19. It involves a Millett design, but not the soundcard interface (though I have it, and Doug is correct)
  20. working a more sophisticated setup and will definitely run it on this amp. Also, I might bring it around and give a few others a listen, Yaniger, Millett, Jan Didden, etc. at an upcoming geek fest. Don't have any Grados to wow them with, I don't think we allow those to cross the border into Texas.... if they were say to show up in my mailbox though in clandestine packaging...
  21. Hey Tom, do those heatsinks you included for the top come in an unanodized version? also, are there any other unpopulated PCBs out there?
  22. I'd be surprised if even Biggy went to this extreme I agree with Steve more or less on this one. Except for the part about the Sigma being remotely good.
  23. 3.25V == 2 x 630-HLMP-6000 ==
  24. http://www.hagtech.com/pdf/snubber.pdf
  25. I'd probably cross that HiVi over at 1khz, just as a gut feeling. I'd have to measure it of course. I really like this driver, but it's in somewhat a different price range: https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_238&products_id=1353 It's a sort of psuedo-TL concept.
