  1. well, I should warn you. I have found nests and various types of excrement in speakers before.
  2. Dinny: If you can pop the crossover boards out, send them to me. I'll rebuild them for ya. Simply remove (the largest driver) and stick your hand in and fish around for them. They might be glued down. Also, don't have an account at this place, but I bet this link will work once you register: http://audiokarma.net/forums/showpost.php?p=678456&postcount=7
  3. you're an idiot. "original price" was an amazing deal to begin with, for a handcrafted product of that caliber. Decent folk have been upcharging from the original cost and handing that "profit" back to Smeggy, where it belongs.
  4. was planning on doing some speaker measurements, and somehow I can not find the microphone holder for my measurement mic. Looked for it for a few hours to no avail. Then tried to find a replacement one, and after being fustrated with trying to find one that had specs proving it would fit, just ordered the cheapest one on Ebay for a few bucks and hoping it will work. Gr.... at getting approval for some DIY time from the wife and not being able to find all the parts to do what I was hoping to do.
  5. There is Reformation Sunday, but I'm not sure how far right that falls on your scale Reks
  6. Fitz can handle this one on his own. He, unlike you, has seen the insides and it's not hard to figure out how to proceed once you have that info.
  7. I'm pretty sure Stax doesn't "voice" things. Unless by voice you mean makes things that sound fucking awesome.
  8. Perhaps they'll use the "lost" letter instead, the digamma! (classics major geek FTW!)
  9. ^^ pretty impressive little setup, I like.
  10. .... right.
  11. There's a nice quantity and quality of bass with these. Is that normal for a Grado?
  12. ZOTAC ZBOX-HD-AD01 and Seagate Momentus XT HDD. My first AMD processor in quite a while (Neo X2 L325)... gotta buy local I guess. For what it is, it has nice specs.
  13. Thanks guys, it was a good one indeed.

It might be worth seeing if you like the Sony NEX-3 or NEX-5 though
  17. yes, Doug has probably seen this, but it's an example of some more complicated biasing schemes.
  18. Doug/Colin: Search for "No Light District" at DiyA (sorry on phone or I'd link it)
  19. ujamerstand: let me ask the question this way. what manufacturing tolerance, specifically, would be an issue with this amp? Once you've proposed this, then we can answer the question.
  20. Doug the amp was a hit. I left it for extended listening. Everyone prefered my orthos to Ari's Grados though
  21. Agreed Kevin. I think the DPO tech is a nice bridge between analog scopes and the entry level, earlier tech digital scopes. I used the same scope this week looking at DDR2 timings an it did everything I needed to do.
  22. Can a mod please move this thread to Head Fi?
  23. Cypher labs was originally providing the technology to JH. My guess is JH will be able to extract digital directly.
  24. Kevin, I don't understand the complaint of restricted voltage input. Isn't that what readout coded high voltage probes are for?
  25. The series mini LEDs in my photo sorta look like headphones!
