  1. what about a whole mountain of $8/ea transistors? This isn't a "bang/buck" project.
  2. oops! At least I gave fair warning though
  3. 117v filament? I need one of those... probably would make a great night light.
  4. Sure, let's assume it does. The deal is the software I need to use isn't available on the Mac, hence the limitation there.
  5. e-mailed
  6. So, I'm looking to grab some sort of external sound card for a number of purposes. My requirements are: PC based External >= 24/192 I need to be able to use this with RMAA, SpeakerWorkshop, LSPCad, etc. hence the PC requirement. The 24/192 is a requirement on the analog inputs for things like RMAA and needle-drops eventually. Budget is flexible One that caught my eye so far is the Edirol FA-66, but I'd be interested in seeing what else would qualify.
  7. Someone needs to build the Gilmore TakeT amp
  8. that part isn't quite over until we have all the amps up and running
  9. Looks like they were trying to market something like Accuphase MDSD processing, without those pesky "technical bits" http://www.accuphase.com/model/pdf/dp-700_e.pdf
  10. Vlad/Chris, Silvio, KG, Peter, Naaman, Renato: I just sent your packages. You should have a PayPal request for the remaining balance, as well as a USPS Priority Mail tracking number in that very same e-mail.
  11. "Thanks to everyone who ordered the headphones. We are sold out completely."
  12. Nate, retirement sucks. Hey, wanna build a few of these: DCPP Amp There are even PCBs available
  13. Getting there guys. Pars, your package went out today. I am planning on having all but Team j4cbo parts sent out on Tuesday. I need to do more matching to get their parts ready and the chances of me having time this weekend are pretty slim. Give me a few more days guys I have decided to include 10% extra 2SA1145/2SC2705 in each kit. I figure these are the most likely to go (I blew one and so did digger945). This is considering that everyone basically has double the FETs anyways needed for a "Dynahi-scale" build. I'll include a modest upcharge for this, at the tune of $0.50 per board. I'm considering adding an extra dual-heatsink per builder as well, so they have something to practice on. It would add a few dollars ($2.50 IIRC), but I think it might be worth it. I'll start a build thread at some point and document the process, once I find someone to help take pictures during the 5 minute curing time. Packaging will be a few dollars per order as well, as there are copious amounts of ESD bags, bubble wrap, tape, markers and other miscellany involved. I have a single receipt from OfficeMax that I'll simply divide down the middle. I will be sending everything via USPS Priority with Delivery Confirmation using flat rate boxes. For Team Spain, I am probably sending things via Express (EMS) since it seems far too great of a risk to send it via first class mail, and Express is the only method that guarantees tracking door-to-door. I think this is best, but feel free to chime in. I think that's it.
  14. depends if you understand the circuit enough to be able to rearrange it with a more restrictive resistor value set... or if not, and you decide to try to parallel two values to get the resulting value that's absent from the resistor line.
  15. geez, I wonder if the guy would sell the stock cable to me Can't be worth more than $50 or so I figure wink, wink, nudge, nudge..
  16. Did they even ask if it was a straight though connection?
  17. Looks like the 6DJ8 pinout got fixed
  18. I wonder if he's assuming the cables are straight-through, or requires a customer to provide their umbilical.
  19. about 55% off the price I would have paid at Fry's
  20. yeah, what a lame pic. Here's a better one: I'm very excited. It's the same DSO that Ti uses, but 2-ch and not color. Otherwise, it's identical. I'm most excited about trying the FFT functions, that are now included by default in this line. Ti says they are interesging, but don't completely replace a nice sound card setup with RMAA. Perhaps that means they are good enough for me Also, the USB connection and the ability to print directly to a printer is also included by default, without upgrading. Once you start to look at what Tek is "throwing in" from a feature standpoint over the older three-digit series, it's pretty amazing. All that, and the slim form factor!
  21. Michael Percy used to sell the Gold Aero, but they are now out of business. He does sell the RAM graded tubes though.
  22. heh, pic from Tek webite of my new model "No, you're doing it wrong"
  23. :prettyprincess: Tektronix TDS1012B :prettyprincess:
  24. however, they sound best when bypassed with polystyrene caps.. that's my secret recipe.
